Blast from the freaking past! Madden 98 intro + more

Hey guys,

I remember when my uncle surprised me and bought a Playstation for my birthday and Madden 98 was the game he purchased with the system. When I fired up the game the intro alone had me saying "OMGGGG this is what the game will look like????!!!!!...YESSS!!" only for it not too lol. Having said that, at the time I imagined this was what we would see when future consoles launched. Looking at the video, do you see certain things that you still don't see now.I know its CGI but there are also a couple of cool tidbits...

-Creative intro
-Smooth drop back (39 sec)
-WR/DB play (46 sec)
-Long Sleeves
-Proper foot planting
-Cheerleaders doing the Deion Sanders dance LOL! (2:07)

You know what's funny? I happened to browse youtube for the NFL on Fox theme and I thought " Didn't an old version of Madden have an extended/remix version of the song?". I then remembered Madden 98 with the Madden bus and said "AHHHHHHHHH YEAHH!!!". I tried to look for the download for the music in the video but no dice....

This just shows how important song selection is.

I also miss the old school music we had(the you can do it music). Todays music is lifeless IMO. Just doesn't compare IMO.

Madden needs to do a better job choosing songs that get you excited to play football!

BTW-this song was awesome. Not sure why they don't bring this exact version back for a opening game music. Would be sweet

Bring back custom stadium music like nfl 2k5 and we will take care of it for you EA!!!

See guys EA tried to warn us back in 98 how the game would look now. Video has the same animations as now

This intro was so crunk, I used to hook my PS up to my radio so I could listen to it out of the speakers. I eventually recorded it to a tape so I could listen to it in my car. lol Hell, I done watched it 5 times since finding it lol.

my favorite intro was either gameday 98 or 99. It showed Darren Sharper flattening a Buffalo Bill at the end of it. That was my all time favorite hit.

That intro is quite similar to the one for Madden 2002 which, I think, was also very good.

I think that the intro in the OP stands alone, in my opinion, because of the level of detail to the visuals, along with the music, that makes it stand out.
