So glad the in-game commentary is new. I shut off the sound last year because I was tired of hearing:

"Number twenty-two with the carry. Number fifty-five with the tackle."

No you won't they talked about it in the audio podcast they said you will hear players names or their position but not "number so and so".

Agreed. It really made me wonder how much time EA probably didnt put into updating commentary between Madden 11 and Madden 12

The intro showing the commentators talking, the animation is so smooth. I wish the game animated like that. Can't wait to hear how the hits and grunts sound this year.

I noticed that also. Unfortunately, that's one of the worst parts of the game by far. I better be able to hear and feel the difference between a damn preseason touchdown and a game winning playoff touchdown.

So the only new news from this is that we don't get custom soundtrack...great.

So what's improved besides a new duo? Do we get real-time stat quotes like where my player ranks in TDs compared to rest of the players in a season or do they go into detail about how my team played a divisional rivalry the previous season and talk about me sweep them, split or struggled with that team? Is it actually on par with other sports games or just a slight improvement but as basic as usual...?

I highly doubt all the commentary is new. In fact im will to bet that at least half if not more will be the same old stuff you have heard before.
Commentary will still be chopped up as usual. If their was a really big change in audio/commentary, he would have said so something along the lines of, our commentary has been completely redone.
