What defensive player do you control?

I usually control a LB but with Minnesota not having many good defensive players (non-d line) I am struggling to pick. Maybe one of the rookie safeties. (for some reason I never like controlling Greenway). What position and what player are you looking forward to controlling?

I've been controlling the Strong Safety since Tecmo Bowl. Maybe this year I will finally do something else.

SS due to eric berry. I can spend all day baiting the QB, stacking the box, and making big hits. Im worried about the lack of assisted tackles and .5 sacks, last year in my 5th year with berry I had 130 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 10 int, 8 FF. went on a big run for all madden pure user control. problem is this year those numbers would be more like 80-4-10-8. which is a shame.

this year I have enjoyed playing as a corner, its challenging, and it helps shut down a scary WR who is just dominating the cpu controlled corners, especially right now with the issues in coverage.

To make the game difficult for me, I am controlling the RE or the ROLB who is rushing the passer. Since these players don't do well statistically anyway, it doesn't do harm for me to control them and possibly make their stats a little better. Plus I don't do well trying to play as a safety.

im new to madden. for me atm it feels like i can do much impact on defense besides calling plays (which i suck at). which position should i control to be able to contribute more?

Most games I'll choose the linebacker position - mainly middle linebacker, but from time to time I'll find myself playing either safety positions, too.

I've been controlling defensive tackle forever... I'm teaching myself to use the Mike backer now...

Every Position depending on the play call I'm using majority time middle linebacker but switch around to confuse offense.

I have been using the SS since Madden 04. like a previous poster its fun baiting the quarterback. I moved Brandon Hardin of the Bears to SS and I am using him. I am about 50 tackles through 11 game now. I let the CPU control Peppers, Urlacher and Briggs. I just try my best to do my 1/11

Since I'm a Browns fan I only play as them. So far I control Frostee Rucker JMJ TJ Ward and Joe Haden. Haden is fun to use cause he's fast and slowly turning into an elite CB it will suck if and when he gets suspended

When playing in my 1 player CCM i will always control the LB/S with the highest AWR rating. I do this because I will naturally make plays/jump routes/fill holes that the CPU won't, so in essence the best player on defense is playing like the best player on defense, instead of me taking a 66 ovr FS with 97 spd and making a huge impact in every game.

On plays I think will be inside runs I control the DT. If you are quick off the snap then engage and wait for the hand off you can bust up almost every run between the tackles.

Just wait for the RB to make a choice on direction and go that way. Either you will get off your block and tackle him out right or you make him bounce it out for your linebackers to take care of.

Obviousl pass plays I control the LE to get pressue.

On those plays where its not clear it depends on the play I call.
