    Progress Players Frequency

I had a thought today while starting up a new CCM. Would it be a better idea to choose to progress players every 4 weeks or every year, instead of weekly? This is what I am wondering. Will the CPU use all of the individual players XP each time progression is available, or will it save some up, to make a more significant upgrade? I hope this makes sense.

I wouldn't want the CPU making an upgrade to a player JUST because it's the only one he has points for, and it happens to be time for upgrades. For example. If a player earns an average of 1000 points per week, but the only upgrade they can afford is for stamina, or toughness, will the CPU just keep upgrading those, and not store points away for an upgrade that costs more XP?

I also just noticed that I set player progression to every 4 weeks, yet it's still an option each week.

    What do you guys think?

Also, I am sorry if this has been answered. I've read through a lot of threads and did a search, but couldn't find anything.

I was wondering this as well. My fear is that if we set it to weekly the AI will just keep boosting toughness and never the things that matter.

Exactly. I am doing an offline CCM, and even though I set it to progress every four weeks, like I said the option is still available each week. I hope that the CPU teams are still doing every four weeks. This might have a lot to do with the lack of progression complaints. We might end up with a bunch of really tough players in a few years...As far as I know there is no way to check the CPU progression. I suppose if I took enough time and remembered a lot of numbers, that I could test this out.

Maybe you have the option to progress each week, but the xp points accumulate every 4 weeks? I had this thought too.

Worthless to do it every week. Every four weeks seems better.

The CPU doesn't use your points, they will sit there till you choose to manually progress them or delegate it to the AI in the "progress players" action on the actions tab.

I meant for the teams the CPU is controlling. I am doing an offline CCM.

I've had the exact same thoughts. Once all of this junk gets sorted out, I plan on using either 4 weeks or yearly. Weekly is not even up for consideration.

I do every year. Every week or 4 weeks doesn't give you enough time to gather enough points to boost an attribute that actually matters.

I wonder if you were to make it ever year, could you then go and take control of every team and progress the players manually?

But you stil have the same amount of xp if you do every 4 weeks.

I play on every 4 weeks so say i can boost an attribute 2 points every
4 weeks so at the end of the season that attribute is up 8 points. Whereas doing it at the end of the season you get all 8 points at once.

I like 4 weeks because you can make small improvements throughout the season.

Most of the attributes that cost that much (not counting traits) shouldn't be upgraded anyway. Intangibles tend to increase over the course of a career, while physical attributes (such as speed) tend to stagnate.

I'm talking about doing progression every week and only have enough points to buy toughness or stamina upgrades.

Ive only played enough to upgrade Dayrl Smith and MJD so far and I added a point to his zone coverage and his break tackle in like week 4. Since then, I've been playing like **** and haven't got much points. MJD is getting injured about every other game; out for only rest of game or few quarters though. I'm 1-9. And it's sad because I actually try it a few games and play even worse.
