My Madden 13 graphics look like PS1!!

Hi

I'm sure there must be something wrong with my PS3 setup. Close ups in Madden 13 look great but as soon as you get to gameplay and the standard camera (plus maybe other camera views) I can firstly see loads of anti aliasing issues on players and then after a few seconds you can see the game change to low textures. At that point the players all look as though they've been smudged. There's no detail anymore and the graphics look like something from 10 years ago.

Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be my TV? I've got £900 Panasonic plasma from about three years ago.

I'm about to take it back because it really is that bad!

There's an issue within the game where it goes in to standard def mode and back to hd. Only happens for a few seconds. It's highly annoying. That said, there is some noticeable jaggies on the PS3 version. What I found that helped was turning down sharpness and contrast. Give that a try.

my graphics look nice and crisp and i have PS3 as well i would check see if its your connections. i play on 2 different tvs a 42 inch RCA hooked up via HDMI cables and 47 inch vizio.

I haven't noticed any issues -- actually looks like the best-looking Madden ever. I downloaded the demo on the Xbox and my PS3 retail version looks better.

I seem to have resolved it mostly changing settings on the PS3 and on my TV. Can't describe how awful it looked. Going to try altering some more settings until I get it looking optimum and will post what I find in case someone else comes across the same problem.

I have my PS3 hooked up to my 65" Toshiba DLP via HDMI and it looks stunning. That and the audio through my Onkyo 750watt receiver plus Cerwin-Vega 300 watt speakers = epic winning!

I have noticed the resolution shift as well. I hope to god this can be fixed in a patch.

I'm on a Samsung LCD and don't notice any problems. Jaggies? Yes, both the PS3 and 360 versions have them. When I had Madden last year on the PS3, I wasn't too impressed with the graphics then, specially with those black patches in the end zones on certain fields.

You want to keep sharpness low on your TV, I'm not saying this'll fix anything, but a bad connection perhaps?

You can Google up your TV and see what techs have the settings at for your particular model.

And i got my madden plugged up to 60 inch plasma with hdmi. best looking madden so far. so it has to be your set up

Panasonic Viera, 360 version.

Not sure on your issue, but for the 360, I turned my TV's sharpness settings up to 100... normally keep it at 0. Made a good bit of difference. I suspect the PS3 version is a bit sharper anyway. But, play with your TV settings... I normally don't, but it helped this time.

This years graphics are great in the cut scenes, mixed bag IMO in game. The standard cam graphics are terrible in most stadiums

One reason is the camera is so far away that I don't see how graphics could look good. Also the colors aren't that great IMO. Look fantastic in cut scenes, just not during the game.

*The lighting is not good at all.Great during cut scenes, and dome stadiums look alright, but the games in the sun are just terrible. Look at NFL 2k5 in the sun. That is a old game and on my 22" monitor the lighting destroys Madden 13's in sun games IMO.

The grass is finally the right amount of shades(besides the stadiums that are neon green looking), but the grass detail isn't that great IMO. I do prefer it over previous Maddens water colored grass, but it isn't even close to perfect. Not even the best that has been done IMO. Backbreaker is still king of the grass look for my taste.

Watch these in their full HD. Besides cut scenes and player close ups, am I the only one who think 2k5 looks bette with color and lightingr? I played both games on my 360 on my little 22" monitor and I actually thought 2k5 looked better as far as being the most realistic looking during gameplay. Madden up close has much better detailed player models, but that is due to the old hardware system and none HD graphics.

NFL 2K5 has always put Madden to shame in that department, imo... the oversaturated, high contrast color palette has always made EA sports games look a little cartoony. It's amazing that 2K5 still looks impressive after 8 years, and it's even last gen! I can only imagine what it would have looked like on current gen consoles.
