    Biggest Suprise player?

Hey everyone, I know Madden hasn't even been out a week yet, but I bet all of you have already dived into connected careers. I think it's pretty cool so far, but they do have a lot of mistakes that annoy me, but that's not why we're here! If you selected to be a coach then you probably did roster cuts throughout the preseason. Anyone have a surprising player that made the team? Or maybe a surprise player that you didn't expect to put up big numbers?

I recently started mine with the Dolphins(my favorite team) and I thought this would be fun because I like to rebuild teams. At the beginning Garrard was my starter but he didn't really play well for me during the preseason. Even though Matt Moore put up better numbers than him I decided to go with Garrard as the starter. Through two games of the season he threw 8 touchdowns and 5 interceptions, which you would think was good, but not for me. He had about a 50% completion percentage which is what pissed me off. His medium throw accuracy was garbage and he often missed WIDE OPEN receivers down the middle. So I said screw him I'm going to look at my other quarterbacks. I saw Matt Moore had pretty good accuracy but what surprised me even more was Tannenhill's. I nearly drueled over his stats compared to Garrards. He had the speed, throw on the run, short throw, medium throw, and Arm Strength were all better than the other 2 QB's. With that in mind, I started Tannenhill the next game and what do you know? He demolished the rival Jets. Completion percentage is 66% through 2 games, with 6 touchdowns and 1 interception. Also, he is 2-0! He is looking great and if he keeps playing like this than we can be serious contenders...

I wouldn't think tannehill would be a surprise. He was a top draft qb pick behind luck and rg3. Also dolphins are starting him in real life.

In my ccm jacoby ford in year three is a monster . I'm just a 83 overall QB and he catches almost everything and has lightning speed.

        Re: Biggest Suprise player?

I started Tannehill in Year One of my Dolphins CCM, and he was okay... Threw for 3,000 yards, 15 TDs, 16 INTs. I drafted a QB in the second round who had a better pre-season than Tannehill so Tannehill is 2nd string now.

My surprise player has been Lamar Miller. At the beginning of my CCM, I had kind of a fire sale, placing all of my RBs on the trading block, because I needed picks to rebuild with but had a logjam at RB. I ended up trading Reggie Bush and Steve Slaton.

Daniel Thomas was my RB starter in Year One and had a pretty good year, barely passing 1,000 yards. Lamar Miller ran for 450 and a couple TDs as his backup. However, in my second preseason, Daniel Thomas struggled and Lamar Miller did well. I started Thomas in Week 1 of the regular season, and he had 12 carries for 17 yards at halftime. Hoping to spark my stagnant offense, I put Lamar Miller in to start the second half, and he hasn't given up the spot yet. He finished with 84 rushing yards on 14 carries and 76 receiving yards on 5 receptions.

He's started the next three games for me, and has 467 rushing yards and 4 TDs to go with 150 receiving yards and a TD.

Ramses Barden has played exceptional for wide reciever flyer. LaMicheal James severely outplayed Deangelo Williams. Russell Wilson has been outplaying Stafford. Javier Arenas is great cb for only being ranked 75.

Tried trading for him using the Niners. No luck. Really wanted to draft him.

The Raiders suck at TE so I picked up Hayden Smith who was cut from the jets in preseason.. His rating are terrible he has like 45 route running 33 awareness 75 catching.... but he LIGHTS IT UP every week. Never drops a pass, is ALWAYS open, he's leading the league in receiving TD's after 9 weeks. Amazing.

Demarius moore on the other hand is a pile of garbage and couldnt catch a cold despite his 80+ ratings. Drops everything, covered, open, EVERYTHING.

I think I could start Bryce Brown as my primary RB, he's a beast.

Also Brandon Boykin on the Eagles, terrific at catching the ball, and jumping routes.

That's how I felt after trading for deanglo Williams and lemichael James outplayed him easy.

Tarrence Ganaway, back-up HB, for the Jets won Super Bowl MVP for me against the Eagles when Greene got injured. Bryan Thomas became a Pro Bowl LB at only 79ovr and led the team in tackles, just edging out David Harris.

Brandon Banks in the return game. IDK if he's actually known for returns, but I took 8 KO's and 5 punts back for TD's in 1 season.

I expected criticism for the Pat's logo.. And it was a surprise because I didn't intend on starting him at all. He had a horrible preseason so he earned second string, therefore he was a surprise when I put him in the lineup.

Clyde Gates is actually really good on my team! He is so explosive. He doesn't have good hands when in tight coverage, but he's never in tight coverage... When he runs a quick slant it's ridiculous how fast he gets off the line. I think I have 4 20+ yard gains just from the one route from him...
