Re: Development trait
There are two ways. When scouting a player for the draft it will give you a number 0-3 for 5000 XP if you scout the development trait.
0=Slow
1=Normal
2=Quick
3=Superstar
-----------------------------------
If it's a player already on your roster, go to 'progress player' just like to normally would to give them their XP point to improve them.
Once you've clicked on a player to give them their XP and the screen opens with your options (EX: Catch in Traffic 2500, Current 84, Future 85) Scroll all the way to the bottom.
It will have an option to improve development trait for 50,000 XP. On the right it will show you their current rating, and then what it would be if you purchased the upgrade. Obviously the current rating is what their development is now, that is how you determine their rating. It will give you the actual word, and not a number like during draft scouting. (IE: Current "Normal", After Purchase "Quick").
I should also note, that if you scroll down and "Development Trait" doesnt show, that mean they are a "Superstar" Dev Trait so obviously it cant be improved. You will find that with RG3, Luck, etc.
Also, there is no way to find out the Dev trait for a guy on another team. He has to be on your team.

Thanks for this, I've been googling and googling and searching for a half decent explanation for this!There are two ways. When scouting a player for the draft it will give you a number 0-3 for 5000 XP if you scout the development trait.

One question I do have as I did originally suspect this how it works. Are any players quick by default with only one step to superstar? I have only really ever found players either without the development upgrade (Superstar) or slow>normal, normal > quick. Never have I seen a quick>superstar.
I have only played with the Ravens so it may just be they have no quick players, just superstar or normal.Comment

Re: Development trait
Yes there are quite a number of players with quick development, more than that have superstar (at least on my Chargers). For example on my Chargers, before any upgrades, Rivers, Gates, Ingram and Vincent Brown all have quick development traits.Thanks for this, I've been googling and googling and searching for a half decent explanation for this!

Re: Development trait
5,000 XP to find out development trait for scouting is wayyy too much
there's gotta be a secretComment
-
Re: Development trait
It's really not that much, considering how powerful the development trait is. If you could just scout every single players development, that would be the only thing worth scouting.Comment

Re: Development trait
You kidding?
You only get what 36,000 scouting XP for a season?
That would mean you can find out the development trait, and nothing else, no speed no scheme no awareness no coverage no catching you won't have any other inkling of what kind of player he is for 7 players out of the like 220+ players who are in the draft.
Even if you use your coach XP to get the double scouting XP that takes you to 14 out of 220+
and again, you wouldn't have any xp left over to find out any of their other stats.
Not at all worthwhile at the 5,000 pricepoint.
I agree its really important to know, but 5,000 is absurdComment

Re: Development trait
It's not absurd. Development is the most important attribute this year - would you expect the price to be low enough for you to scout it for half the players in the draft while still having enough to scout other stuff? Now that would be absurd.Comment

Re: Development trait
Anyone know the differences between the development traits? For example if you are superstar do you get more XP per game or do upgrades cost less?Check out my youtube channel for gameplay commentaries

Re: Development trait
It is fine at 5000. You are not supposed to know the development of all your targets.You kidding?

Personally I would not be against not being able to discover it until after you draft a guy (because that is kinda how it is in real life).
The way I see it is that unlocking development should only be a luxury for 1st round picks. With a cost of 5000 you can unlock development for one or maybe two guys. That is fine.
In my CC I needed a FS to replace the recently retired Reed. I had the 27th pick and was looking at the #1 FS who was projected to go 10th. I was thinking about moving up to get him but first unlocked development to see if it was worth it.
Those are the situations where you should unlock it, not for every prospect you may draft.Comment

Re: Development trait
Scout Intangibles.
My center I drafted had a B intangible, was listed for the 5th round, but I scouted a few things and he's rated 79 in my first year with him, and I saved up enough points to go from quick development to superstar.Comment
