CCM Practice

I just bought madden, and I just started a CCM. Do the practices really matter? Should I even bother with them? They seem a little to time consuming.

They give the coach and players XP (win or lose), so yes, they're worth it.

I question whether or not the AI-controlled teams get a practice benefit, though. If I knew that it wasn't doing them I probably wouldn't do the practices in a single-player CC.

They matter a lot, and they're not that time consuming. Practice is worth 15k - 30k XP per player, per season. The practice quarters are only 5 minutes long, and some of the practice options are very short.

For players, it's the only way to progress (and for older players, to stave off regression) - there is no natural progression this year. For coaches, you can buy packages with the XP that give several front-office type benefits, from increased XP by position to making FA's more likely to sign with you, to extra scouting points.
