Depth chart rating changes in game
In my online ccm, when looking at the depth chart in the menus compared to in game, there are changes in ratings. Why would players have different ratings in the game depth chart? The game hasn't even started yet and one of my free safeties is rating 4 points higher then the in menu depth chart.Tags: None -

Re: Depth chart rating changes in game
It says play now mode, but this is all in my ccm.
In the menu in ccm when I set the depth chart, they are one rating
When I am in a ccm game, his pause, and go to depth chart, they are a different ratingComment

Re: Depth chart rating changes in game
Yeah the other poster is wrong. Kinda...
What happens is that the in game depth chart does not take schemes into account. If you look at the in game ratings they are the same as the play now roster ratings.
On top of that, there will be variation in ratings on a game to game basis due to DPP.Comment

So is my best bet to note the ratings in the in game depth chart and use those when setting up the lineups?Yeah the other poster is wrong. Kinda...

Re: Depth chart rating changes in game
Not really. The overalls from the CC screen are adjusted for your scheme and if you play towards your scheme it does matter. Imagine you have your QB scheme set to "strong arm QB" and you have two QBs. On has a THP of 96 and is rated in CC at a 88 ovr and the other has a THP of 86 and is rated 78. Now in game that 78 may be a 84 while the 88 dropped to a 82. you may think the weaker armed QB is the better option, but if your playbook is designed to utilize a strong armed QB you could be at a disadvantage. You should match your scheme with your playstyle.
At any rate, don't put too much stock into overall; instead focus on individual ratings. The overall rating is more like a generalization. Say you have a WR rated 85 and another one rated 82. Generally the 85 will be better, but there are times where the 82 will perform better.
So really it all depends on the player.Comment

Re: Depth chart rating changes in game
The CCM menu depth chart are the ratings that match your scheme. When in the actual game/on the field, the Depth Chart is the standard overall that is set w/out schemes taking in consideration. Is this correct?? Also the free agent ratings (in CCM) are already factored by scheme. This threw me off @ first.
Wonder why EA decided to make this so confusing??Follow me on http://twitter.com/Alligator_BloodComment

I'm having this same problem and it's messing with my trading. I'm re-reading everything you said, but it's still a little over my head.Comment
