Why do i have to call plays when im doing a ccm as player?

maybe its a complete misconception on my side (new to madden and no football expert either) but why do i need to do the play calling when im doing the ccm mode as a player, eg as TE? i mean im not the coach, offensive/defensive coordinator or anything, not even QB I am..

Is this how it should be and if not is there a way to turn it off and let the computer (coach) do the job?

Turn on gameflow and just go with the one it gives you.

Why do HAVE to play as a QB when I'm being the coach ?

IN the CCM settings you can select on what type you want to play as. Either Coach, Coach & TE, or TE.

I switch it to the position only if I'm playing solo and most of the play calling is done by ai.

they wanted to give the option to call the plays so you can call plays that will involve your player more if you were so inclined. I just use game flow and let that take care of play calling.

I think it's pretty stupid. I'm a WR. I should not have ANY say in ANY play calling. I shouldn't even be in control of the snap. It kind of takes away from playing in Online Player Only CCM's with friends or whoever, since you have to trust them NOT to audible or play call. I miss the old Superstar Mode

They wanted to give players the option. If you don't feel like calling the plays just use gameflow and run the play they pick. You technically then aren't "calling" the play. You are just hitting a button and running with it.

ok guys, thanks for elaborating, i guess ill go with gameflow then, was just kinda surprised to see that after i selected to be a player only.
itll take away a tiny little bit from the atmosphere but i can live with it.

The point tho is so u feel more involved in the game while playing because if it wasn't setup like that, then people would complain about not getting the ball more or "how can I get xp.if I don't get the ball". I'm glad I have control and as a hb i could call every play for me but that would be boring so having that control I can make it balance like real life. I like what EA did becuz superstar mode in the past was boring, no control at all.

With gameflow, all you're doing is selecting the play that the "coach" is calling for you. You can just pretend it's your QB telling you what play you're running .

While the solution, as per usual, would be to give the player the choice between having control or not of the playcalling....this was the much better default choice by EA.
