    Something got to give!

NBA 2k13 is about to come out and if ea don't have at least patch notes out its gonna be a lot of trade ins. Bad for business it always happens when the better quality game comes out.

How is it bad for business, they already have your money.

These posts always crack me up, lol. You can't hold EA ransom by threatening to trade in a game...they already have your money...EA could care less if you trade in any of their games.

EA doesn't lose money from trade-ins.

Yup. The only one who loses money from trade-ins is the gamer.

LOL....every one wo bought Madden could trade it in and EA wouldnt care....they have ur money.

Matter of fact, they'd probably like that b/c it would mean less complaining from the Madden "community"

Actually EA rather us not trade in Madden 13, because then its owned by GAMESTOP or whoever and they sell it for $55 dollars, a lot of people (who don't have Madden13 yet) will buy the owned version and this hurts EA sales, due to the buyer not buying the EA $60 dollar retail version.

Not to mention the Holidays are right around the corner.

That's like saying the NFL is really concerned about ppl buying tickets from Stubhub.

Yeah they might lose a bit, but it's not enough to worry about....and with the Online pass costing $10, you might as well buy it new.

On top of that, speaking of the holidays, people will STILL buy Madden brand new for gifts.

Actually, that's what developers were whining about. That they weren't getting anything from trade ins. They hate that concept.

So keep trading away people, until they developers can make games where we can keep it for a long time

Ummm... Not really. Seats are a fixed commodity. Video games are not. If you resale a seat, you're normally selling a seat to a person that can't get another seat. Good luck scalping a ticket at a Raider game.

For the record, the NFL ABSOLUTELY cares about people buying from Stubhub. But like EA, they can't stop it. Gamestop is THRIVING on this secondary market and it has been shown to hurt the publishers.

As for the holiday sales - buying a new copy at a reduced prices isn't as good as buying it for full price. That's basic math there.

No, that's completely incorrect. Video game companies don't get money from people who buy the used games. It does hurt the bottom line, which is why EA is trying to go digital as mentioned above or other companies attempting to keep people interested with new DLC in other games.

Yes people. Keep trading in games so that developers continue to shut down our get swallowed up by the by the EAs of the world... Unless of course the price of games continue to rises.

                          Really smart there, buddy.

Not just EA. ALL publishers are going that route. The ONLY reason it hasn't happened yet is because they don't want to piss off Target and Walmart. But, as we move forward, that's going to cease to stop it. Thank you Gamestop...
