Stupid but...this is the end for me on Madden

Now we can no longer have created players in franchise or coach mode or whatever it wants to be called now. For someone who's played this series since the Genesis days, one of the things I'd come to enjoy was putting me and a couple of friends on a crappy team and having fun building that team up.

The last time I was 100 percent thrilled with the direction Madden was headed was Madden 05.

I haven't bought a new copy since 09.

12 got me a little bit excited to play again but then this Connected Careers crap happened and, well, I'm done.

I wrote Madden himself about the poor direction his brainchild has been going. I hope I get a response from the man who didn't want to put his name on a game that wasn't true to the game of football.

If you have a 360 go online right now and download the new patch and you'll be able to bring edited and created players into CCM, it was just released today.

JUST for the 360? I got the latest patch on my PS3 and it wouldn't let me bring in the guys I created in anticipation of the patch which SUPPOSEDLY was letting us bring custom rosters in.

It's for 360 and PS3 allows you to use your edited rosters in CCM.

I must be doing something wrong then as I downloaded the patch this morning and made sure the whole roster thing was correct. What I want the most is accurate starting QBs for all teams. Made sure they were all correct and went into CCM. I had three options of roster use before starting my CC. I tried them all and none of them ended up being the roster I had just edited and saved prior to going into CCM.

None of the rookie QBs are starting with the exception of Luck and Griffin and I didn't touch them in my editing.

Henne and Garrard (sp) are just two examples. How does one accomplish this?

Option #2 worked for me, my roster was just as I had saved it. Make sure you reorder depth charts, too.

It isn't working for me either. When I use my imported roster Matt Ryan drops from a 92 to a 86. Michael Turner goes from an 85 to a 96?? Darren Sproles from an 88 to a 66??? WTF??

Yeah, and my created players didn't even EXIST on the coach mode.

I don't agree with u that connected careers made the game worse, Infinity also made the game SIGNIFICANTLY better and will continue to IMPROVE. And i can't even comprehend why 12 got u excited. What exactly about 12 got u excited? they really didn't introduce anything new. It seems u are just upset about a couple of key issues that are important to u, which is fine. but just wait as CCM and the infinity engine get better each year, now thats something to get excited about.

can we create players on coach mode that arent rookies i mean make them before you start the import them in ,every player i made turns out to be a rookie , how do you adjust number of years experience?

In the standard play now rosters, there are no schemes, so the overall ratings presented are just like Madden 12.

Once you start a CCM the ratings change according to YOUR scheme. Your scheme dictates the overall ratings of every player. A few players, the true superstars, transcend the schemes and have a high rating regardless of the scheme you have set.
So Micheal Turner goes up because he is in a Power Run scheme.
Matt Ryan goes down based of the scheme he is in which I am assuming does not call for a pocket passer.
Sproles again, goes down because the starting HB scheme is set for something other than Recieving Back, probably One Cut based on all the other HBs on the Saints.
If you put Sproles on your team in a power run scheme he is going to drop.

If you want to see how this works, go into your schemes and change them around and then go into the Free Agent screen. Do this a couple of times and you will get a better feel for how it works.

Schemes are great but I think 99 percent of the Madden players don't even touch this part of the game. Hardcore guys like on OS yes, but your average madden player, probably not. Maybe that's why EA's surveys always show people play PLAY NOW over every other game mode.

That is probably true, but the people in this thread are complaining about CCM mode rosters and what they perceive to be the problem, even though it isn't. So addressing that issue is what needs to happen, which I did by explaining who the CCM mode works and why it is not the problem the people in this thread, which is the issue at hand, are concerned it is.

And as I said, the play now is the same as it always has been when it comes to ratings, so there is no problem there either.
