Zones that use combos of the flat(light blue) zone and curl/flat(purple) zone...

I press when I suspect a curl route, puts the CB under the WR to jump the pass when the WR beats the CB's press; and since the WR is coming back towards the QB, the CB is in a good position in general,,,,,Problem here is, if you are playing a human controlled opponent, they can hot route to a streak; what happens there is, once the WR beats the press he usually has room between the pressing CB and the deep safety; even with a S in 2 deep zone you are looking at giving up 10 yards....Dropping a LB into a Yellow Zone can help here too if you want to press and play safe against the streak,,,,

Try spotlighting the receiver or using individual coverages - if the route is to the screen left, then have the CB in man coverage cheat inside (right) and so on...that or press man if your CB won't get shredded at the line...or blitz and manually undercut the curls...corners are easier if you get decent heat and force an early throw - they can be picked off fairly regularly...most of all, try mixing up man and zone and combo coverages with hot routes...if I am playing someone who runs ONE THING to stop me form doing anything, then they are in deep trouble by the 3rd quarter...variety and unpredictability are the key...all you need to do is make him miss his timing and you'll do better...
