Difference between a good and bad quarterback

Hey guys, i'm in the second season of my connected career and i'm playing as the Jets.. My QB is currently Rex Grossman. I'm thinking of trading for a quarterback or drafting a top quarterback.

So my question is, would there be a noticeable difference between a low 70's overall QB such as Rex Grossman and a top flight QB such as Aaron Rodgers? (yes, i know it would be near impossible to trade for Rodgers)

P.S I am playing on Jarodd's All-Madden Black Slider set

It really depends how you use him.

Look at a guy like Matt Hasselbeck. He is money on short yardage passes and has fair mid accuracy but is absolutely a stud at play action. If you played to his strengths you could easily shread the d every time.

There will be an astronomic difference, in my opinion. Having used A-Rodg extensively (see profile pic, lol,) the guy just makes almost every single throw out there.

Then, I have another franchise with the Panthers that I play consistently as well. Cam Newton is in the high 90's rating-wise, (4th year,) but most of his throwing accuracies are somewhere in the high 80's at this point. While he often times makes good throws, he still disappointingly overthrows the living hell out of a lot of short passes (for instance, I read a blitzing nickel CB and a safety who's shifted towards the middle of the field - I target the slot receiver on a post pattern,) but Cam throws the ball 10-20 yards beyond where he should be.

THEN - In another franchises, such as a Browns franchise, I'll take a rookie QB who's passer ratings are fairly low (low-to-mid 70s,) and see if I can develop him. The passes are wildly inconsistent (even with a high-efficiency West Coast offense,) and are typically placed well out of ideal position for continuation of routes, safety from defensive ball-hawks, or without the ability to precisely place the ball the same way I could with someone truly elite like A-Rodg.

It all depends on how you play. I can go 400+ yards with Brees but if there's a situation where he's injured and I'm playing Daniels, my entire scheme changes. He doesn't have the accuracy to throw consistently 40-some passes a game. I love passing the ball in the flats and drag-routes so it's not much of a change, I just have to run more balanced so I'm not stuck in a long yardage situation.

Yeah, IMO the game adjusts how the defense reacts to good QBs. It always seems to me like teams with good QBs will have more WR separation and more dropped INTs regardless of the other players around them.

we have a player in our franchise that has Timmy Tebow up to 91 overall ... so I guess anything is possible

Definitely. The better the passer the more accurate throws are on a regular basis so you get less overthrows, underthrows, etc if you are just pressing the pass button. If you are using the left stick it makes an even bigger difference. The low quality passers will sail balls left and right because they just dont have the accuracy, they need the receiver to really be open. With the best rated passers you can squeeze balls in just about anywhere.

I notice this even between Colt McCoy and Terrelle Pryor in my CC.

McCoy triggers more deflections and has thrown just 4 INTs. Pryor, anything in the vicinity of a defender has a decent chance to get picked.

I think it's the traits (Forced Passes in general, add on Sense Pressure when hurried/guys in his face) and AWR, and of course the S/M/DAC ratings (and maybe THP, depending on distance/trajectory you put on it). Oh and Tight Spiral also?

Assuming this thinking is true, it would make sense for me. McCoy has 12 more AWR (75 vs TP's 63), better SAC (82 vs Pryor's 75), and better Force Passes (Ideal vs Conservative, I think). McCoy throws tight spirals. Pryor...no.

Most of McCoy's picks came on intermediate or deeper routes, and usually because the THP gave the defender more time to react. I saw this on a comeback, tried to hit Cobb. Cobb was open, ran the route well, but the corner recovered in time because of the floaty-ball McCoy threw. Probably the accuracy and THP did that pass in.
