Can't stay motivated to play this game any longer. Mind telling us (me) how you play? Maybe give me an idea or something to make it fun again. I can't get past the Pre-Season without starting over or just losing all enthusiasm on rebuilding a team.

play fav 3-4 team, and rebuild when age onsets

5th or so year, i play more of a gm than last year. last year with custom playbooks i could have fun. not as much fun this year

i alternate between hc06 on pc, madden 08 on pc, hc09 ps3, ncaa13 ps3 and xbox m13. also have 2k5 xbox and allpro 2k8 ps3

i enjoy doing gm job in my favorate team but strategic fun( due to unbalanced play and unrealistic AI) wasnt there.

1. Both. If it's a rebuilding project, I'll sim the entire first season. Now that the 2012 season is over, I just sim the first season anyway and try to play every game except preseason games after that.
2. No practice
3. Both. I can't find a CCM to stick with so I just keep experimenting hoping to find a good CCM to stick with.
4. Will probably be starting a Ravens CCM as coach, will hope to stick with it. They're my favorite team.
5. Scout and draft. That way I can form my team the way I see fit. I really like drafting mid-low round players and developing them into stars.

Played 3 seasons as a player. Started at the Seahawks to build up my rating, then went to the Texans via Free Agency the next year. Couldnt get a game over Schaub in my first year. Won the Super Bowl first year with the Texans (2nd year overall). Halfway through 3rd season.

Started with the Texans as coach. 10 weeks into 3rd season. Lost the Wildcard in the first season, won Super Bowl second season, currently 9-1 in third season.

Play every game including preseason, 5 min quarters.

Do you practice or not?

Never practice.

Do you rebuild or play your favorite team?

Currently playing with my team, but with not renew when my contract runs out and go to the lowest rated team with a vacancy (if thats possible to do)
What team are you using?

Houston Texans in both player and coach

Do you scout and draft or simulate it all?

I start scouting roughly halfway through the season. That way I know where my team needs better players, as well as gives me a chance to see a few player stories before spending on unneccessary scouting.

What's the progress of your current CCM?

Reigning World Champion Texans sitting top of AFC South, AFC and NFL at 9-1 (lost to NY Jets in week 2).

Looking at going to the Bill, Browns, Dolphins, Raiders or Rams once I leave Houston. Possibly come back to Houston to finish up it the opportunity arises.

Sounds just like me. I pick a team and then give up midway through the Pre-Season. Part of my problem is that I just don't like any team in the NFL outside of the Giants, so when I try and go with another team, it's hard for me to invest anything in them when I really don't care about the players. I guess that should make it easier to cut guys and whatnot, so I'm not sure entirely what my problem is.

Maybe the preseason itself is the issue, with the starters always coming out of the game after 1 quarter and the CPU's inability to punt the ball more than 20 yards. Makes for some LONG games, and then when you sim inside of a game, the CPU puts up 40-plus points nearly every time.

Play all games except preseason where I'll play while the starters are in (and put any guys I really want a good look at in starting roles), and supersim the rest.

I practice every other game or so until postseason.

Oakland, Ravens, Bucs - Oakland CC has gotten the most time since it's in the dynasty forum.

Scout weekly and draft all rounds.

Farthest along is Oakland, in the postseason of year 3.

My overall gameplan is mostly to run at least 30 times using both my HBs with no greater than a 70/30 split (ideally, 55/45), and to use my speed back a lot like how Ravens use Rice (i.e. both running/receiving) if at all possible.

Other than obvious down/distance situations (ex. 3rd and long) or game situations (up or down by a lot and/or up or down with time running out), I usually try to follow the flow of the game, see who's getting a little hot, etc. For example with Pryor, I usually planned to run a lot, but if I see Pryor connecting on passes like 4 or 5 in a row, I'll keep throwing, knowing he's going to cool sooner than later - ride the hot hand, so to speak. Same for a HB - if he or the OL is running people over, I'll keep running, with some passes mixed in.

Overall, I'm a run the ball, stop the run, and play hard defense type of play caller, but it's mutable based on who's doing what in the game (both offense and defense).

And then when I simulate, it just feels wrong because the backups got no XP (Pre-Season is all about backups getting experience but Madden can't do things right).

I simulated it anyways. Started a Saints CCM this morning. Losing to Washington 31-3 right now haha. Can't stop Morris but he got injured so I hope I can make some sort of a comeback. 4 minutes left in the 3rd.

1) Right now just coach, want to try a player CCM at some point though
2) Just sim. I need to do something in pre-season though to get the backups and third stringers on the field during those games
3) I do practice during pre-season, and the weeks I do progression (Week 5, Week 10, and Week 17 (though I progress on the Wildcard round). Just for something to do mainly, every now and then want to play a few minutes.
4) Rebuild, I want to do a favorite team game at some point but find Rebuilding more fun.
5) Right now St. Louis
6) Scout and draft, do scouting in the off-season though once I know where I will be picking
7) Mid 2nd season.

I've always loved the team building and drafting aspects of Franchise and now CCM mode so been mostly a sim player, even if the sim engine drives me nuts at times (not as much yet this year). I tend to try to look for certain body types for positions, don't use draft guides etc., and rarely trade anything but picks (unless it is a great player, or for low picks, feels more realistic to me).

I play as a QB, playing all games and practices. I am currently in my tenth season, my seventh as a Texan after three years on the Bears' bench. It does, however, appear as though as it might be my last season in Houston, as I am in my contract year and I've not been offered a contract yet. Since I'm playing as a player, I have no control over the draft.

I signed with the Bengals; not a good scheme fit, but I wanted to try to get a Lombardi trophy to the Queen City. As of now, I'm 6-2, with just over 3000 yards passing (not much of a running game in Cincy).
