Getting fired as coach in CCM?

I had a great head coach CCM going with the Cowboys. In my sixth year, rebuilding the team from T to B, cut Romo the first year and had a nice young qb in the making. Also traded away the veteran's early for picks for cap space to snag free agents. Got a great rb in the Draft and I was having some fun. Young team, competing, making the playoffs and never had a losing season. Things were looking great!

Then, the train wreck. We go 9-7 and make it to the playoffs. Win in the wild card round but lose in the divisional round. I get fired.... This team I have built and have gotten to the point in which we might be a real contender. I get canned before I can even see the results of what I built!

I eventually got over this, thinking okay. I can rebuild another team and just pick it up where I left off. Next thing I know the only option I have is to retire!

Is there no way to get another job here??? And how do I get fired without ever having a losing record?? If so then this is terrible flawed. Has anyone else had issues with this??

Yeah i had the same sort of thing except because I couldn't win the S.B 3 years in a row! lol. I just re-loaded my last save and went in and turned off firing coaches. That's assuming you are playing an offline ccm of course

I am playing in an offline CCM. And my goal was in fact win the super bowl. I just don't see how you are supposed to have a lengthy coaching career if you get fired and can't get on with another team afterwards.

Lovie Smith will get another job though surely. I just think if you get fired you should be able to continue that coach career and not have to restart

You could create a new coach, or recreate your other one and keep going, though I would LOVE to see this feature built upon with coordinators a la NCAA Football's coaching carousel in the future.

So, in offline CCM when you get fired your giving the option to continue that CCM just as a different coach or etc? Thanks!

I just wish I could get hired on a new team with my same coach instead of creating a new one

This may be the straw that breaks the camels back, and I give up on this title. Not being able to string a long career together with one coach without putting up unrealistic statistics just for accomplishments within the game, and leader board stats is absurd.

If you get fired, you do have the opportunity to continue coaching. But, if no one comes after you before the start of the next season, then you're forced to retire.

I'm okay with being forced to retire I just want better communication from the game as to why. If I can't get jobs or something because my scheme doesn't match the roster then give me an opportunity to change my scheme (no, I don't know if that's why you can be passed over).

If they were only 5-6 vacancies and I'm up against 6 or 7 other good coaches or something that would be another reason I might have to retire.

Optionally, it would be nice to have the ability to see what the jobs are, who filled them... maybe to go back to being a coordinator and having the option to sim the next season and take it off so that way you could resume your career. Maybe allow you to play as another player or coach that season and if your old coach player is in demand then you're optionally able to pick him back up

Just an example, there's a few things like this where a little communication would go a long way in CCM.

I expect we'll have some of these issues addressed come 14.

I've had the same issues pop up in my CCM. As pheonix I was in my third year of the rebuild and jst drafted the final pieces then they fired me. The Lions offered me a job and that was where I went. Because the Cardinals fired me I made it a point to ruin that franchise by staying NFC and never letting them have playoff success.

I'd love to start as a "Linebackers Coach", only able to play the Linebackers, and work my way up to DC.. and HC.

You should also be able to be a... wait for it... Free Agent Coach.

Yeah, kind of like the team play concept from the previous Madden(s) where you only controlled your position players on your team. Good idea. Allow us to slum it for a season so we can get back in favor with owners/coaches when appropriate (maybe I play too many MMOs, but some kind of rep/faction/swagger/etc would be kinda nice here).

Different levels of coaching/GM would be kinda nice too.
