What's the ONE thing you must see in Madden 14 before you buy it?

For me it's a tie between

    Player Movement( running animations, footplanting)

Offensive and Defensive line to become a real struggle and take weight and momentum into account.

Re: What's the ONE thing you must see in Madden 14 before you buy it?

I love those two wish list items but I would probably buy Madden 14 if they weren't in the game and just live with it. I'd love to see in game saves too but that won't cause me to not buy the game.

For me the one thing they have to do to get me to buy the game is improve the cpu AI. I'm an offline gamer only so this area is crucial and was a big black eye on M13. Smarter play calling, smarter decision making by QBs, smarter situational AI (knowing when to play tight on third and short, late game AI, etc). The cpu is flat out stupid in this game and the overall AI has dropped from the past. EA this gen has made the cpu a freaking moron and I feel the AI still isn't quite up to where the PS2 was. Instead of having AI that is 6-7 years into a next gen life and improved we have AI that was so terrible at the beginning of this gen that it is barely passable right now. It is the one glaring thing for me that needs fixing.

One day when I play the cpu in Madden I would love to say they are playing smart and like a human. I have no idea when that day will come but its years away.

It must be able to import draft classes from NCAA 14.
        There's always next year, right?

i agree with all stuff the OP and and second poster said smarter AI im tired of seeing bad play calling or the cmp just keeps running the ball 3 straight times in row and punting.... or having a chance win game by a fg and throwing up a hail mary pass. also how about working on glitches that are still in game from the ps2 days and havent been fixed. also morphing players fixed would be nice as well.

Same as M13.. Co-Op in franchise mode. After it came out with a patch I bought M13. Hopefully they will launch M14 with co-op and not make that same mistake twice!

Re: What's the ONE thing you must see in Madden 14 before you buy it?

There isn't one improvement by itself that could make Madden 14 a day one purchase for me.

              I need to see:

*Improved AI play calling, situational awarness, mismatches

*Improved offensive and defensive line interaction (this is a huge one, I need to see the Dline win or lose in more varied ways, Defensive ends take better angles and a real pocket form, realistic pressure from good 4 man fronts without the DT blowing up the middle every single time) Double team blocking on BOTH run and pass plays!

*A halftime show or at least more than one replay, halftime should tell what happened until that point and post game should show how the winning team won and how the losing team lost.
A weekly wrap up would help but I'll settle for in game improvements.

*I need to see that animations aren't controlling the action and that the infinity engine is in fact doing what it was ADVERTISED TO DO

*All of the missing features from 12 need to return and function properly.

*Foot planting and more realistic player movement.

              ---EDIT---
*I NEVER want to see synchronous animations EVER again seeing 4 lineman hop skip over the same person one right after the other is laughable at this stage of gaming...there's only 22 onscreen at one time...why can't they all act/ animate individually?

I've been playing this game for too many years to give it a pass for getting just one of the above correct. Madden has had long enough alone to get even it's own vision of NFL football nice and tight, anything less is unacceptable.

Re: What's the ONE thing you must see in Madden 14 before you buy it?

Well I will most likely buy 14 regardless, but one main thing I want back is full player editing in offline franchise/ccm like in Madden 12.

I don't want this so I can edit all my players to 99 OVRs and cheese, I want this simply because Madden's progression and regression always has been poor, especially in Madden 13. I want to be able to manually edit my players rankings if need be.

For example, look at Russel Wilson. When the game launched he was what like a 70 OVR I believe. Now he is like an 89 or something in the last update if I am correct, and will be in the upper 80's in M14. That is a huge, well deserved jump because of how well he played and put up great stats. However in Madden if I draft a player that is 70 OVR and put up amazing Russel Wilson like stats with him, his OVR will jump to like 75 at the most for year 2, probably only to like 73 though.

Also regression, specifically for RBs is bad. The nearly every RB starts declining in performance after 30, mostly all of them are riding the bench or splitting time once they get to 32 or 33. However in Madden guys like MJD, Foster, Peterson, and every other good-great back will still have 95 OVRs and be amazing at the age of 35, which is VERY rare in the NFL.

And in M13 it just seems as though the CPU's players do not progress as quickly as User players. I'm not sure why but it seems like the CPU players never get above a 90 OVR unless they were already like 88+ when the CCM started.

That is probably my main gripe with M13, the progression and lack of editing was really bad. Progression and regression was bad in 12 as well but at least I had editing to fix it.

Other than this I obviously want to see a more polished engine with less WTF player movements.

I agree with everything you said. I will add that I would like the menus to be cleaned up for 14 (especially in CCM).

Re: What's the ONE thing you must see in Madden 14 before you buy it?

I will probably buy it no matter what. That's what happened this year. I know it a terribly made and designed game with tons of bugs and glitches and missing features, and it will be the same with Madden 14. But it is still fun to play.

I wonder if the NFL looks at Madden at all as a reflection of itself. If they did, they wouldn't keep this exclusivity agreement going. Everybody always says that things started going downhill with the next gen consoles, but that was around the same time as they signed their agreement. With that, there is no reason to really try or put any extra effort, investment, or money into making the game. If people want to play the NFL, they will have to buy it. So until that exclusivity ends, we will get mediocrity, bugs, glitches, and missing features. How exciting.

But if I had to pick the most important thing Madden 14 needs, it would be the ability to use custom playbooks in every game mode. Every year I get the game, I play one game, and then spend a few hours making a playbook. It was the same with this one, and making offensive and defensive playbooks with play ratings took about 4 hours. Then I realized that was useless because I NEVER use play now. I was pretty pissed at that point. What is the point of letting people make playbooks if they can't be used? It's not unfair and it doesn't give people an edge when playing in a CCM, online or off, because it's the same damn plays as every other playbok! /end rant

Needs to have offline full player editing and 32 team control like Madden 12, or I will skip another year.

Progression and terrible roster management by the CPU kill the immersion for me and make me not want to play a second season in franchise
                            Madden 11' Franchise should be

Madden '10 "foundation" + depth of Head Coach 09 = my dream franchise mode.

A total presentation overhaul. New animations, new sideline scenes, new injury scenes (Injuries are terrible now), new before and after game scenes, and just absolute new presentation features. Like ticker tape, better replays, etc.

Presentation needs to improve massively. Anyone else miss NFL 2K series? Hail to 2k5 lol
