    Question about Importing Draft Classes

    I'm not sure if anything has been said, and forgive me if it has. But now that the import is back, is it going to be fixed? Or will it be the same as before? I mean, at this point I'm just happy it's back in the game. But I'm still curious.

    Looman said last year that imported draft classes will only be back in the game if its working correctly. So my guess is that the Pop Warner shoulder pads and the chicken legs have been fixed at least.

    Hopefully they'll translate better from NCAA as well.

      Just curious, did editing players equipment in NCAA have any impact on those issues previously? I know some people did "custom draft classes" where they meticulously edited NCAA rosters to get "accurate" draft classes. So I wonder if editing NCAA rosters equipment wise had any impact...

        I don't think it did. It seemed to be random. You could upload the same draft class file over and over and you would get different results. Sometimes players had the huge shoulder pads and sometimes they didn't.

        I have no idea if editing a player in NCAA made them a candidate for this or not.

          Well that stinks...
          With edit player back in we can fix that stuff, but hopefully EA did some work to limit some shenanigans...

            Draft Classes are back..yes.
            But I almost feel even more worried about them than ever before.

            I heard a comment about them (from Looman) about how they would never "load" the same twice.... which makes me think they are just importing the General info of a player and the ratings are totally randomized.

            Now for me, that is an epic fail... especially considering you are not going to be able to edit ratings in Madden once a Franchise is started.

            I could handle some ratings being totally randomized, but not the specific physical attribute ratings that make us know a player !

            For Example.... I could not handle playing 3 plus seasons with Oregon having used HB De' Thomas knowing he is one of the quickest players around... who will probably carry a 96+ speed / accel / agil rating in NCAA.

            And then have him imported into Madden with a 86 speed/ accel / agil...
            that is just to far off....and we have no way to fix it.

            I think the physical attribute ratings of a player should not randomize or even change much from the NCAA rating.

            Everything else having to do with Skills and knowledge can be totally randomized !!!

                See I'm still ok if the attributes don't translate perfectly. Obviously I want them to translate well so studs will be studs. But if worst case scenario is that I have to sim 10 years into NCAA to get fake draft classes that is what I will do.

                I am grateful for the ability to eliminate draft guides!

                  I too am totally for randomized ratings... just not the physical ones (especially speed and agility) !

                  It is one of the telling ratings that you come to know about a player...in the game and in real life.

                  I guess I am looking at it more from the perspective of playing the NCAA game to get the Draft Classes, and then playing them in Madden. You get to know the players more that way, than just simming to get the Classes.

                  I just cant get over a known Fast player being Slow.... or a Slow player being Fast.

                  I can handle a player thought to have good hands in NCAA, to have not so good hands in Madden ! Or route running, or basically any of Skill type rating to be totally random, I am totally for that !

                    Ideally that would be the best way for it to work. I agree with that. My point is that as long as we can kill off those guides I am a happy man.

                        I think every rating should go down 3-5 points, except awareness should drop 15-25.

                            I've never been able to import an NCAA draft class before, so am unfamiliar with how it works...

                            Will it also carry over the player's appearance and equipment? Or is that also randomised?

                              SPD (N/A) Speed just doesn’t change. Nothing about the fields or elements slow you down in the NFL.
                              STR (N/A) Strength isn’t going to change for you. Maybe if given an option to slim down or bulk up..?
                              AWR (-10) The “speed of the game play” as well as huge play books do change, and it causes a learning curve.
                              AGL (N/A) Agility isn’t going to change. If you are nimble as a cat, nothing is going to change for you.
                              ACC (N/A) Acceleration isn’t affected. Again, the playing fields aren’t a huge difference, nor is your equipment.
                              CAT (-7) Catching will definitely be affected. Cannon arm QB’s and faster timing routes will be why.
                              CAR (-7) It’s the NFL, and now, everyone tackling you is a beast and a tactician to make you fumble.
                              JMP (N/A) Jumping will not be affected. If you jump high…you jump high.
                              BKT (-10) Breaking tackles won’t be so easy in the NFL where everyone is so much better at bringing you down.
                              TAK (-7) Likewise, for rookie defenders, veteran ball carriers in the NFL are going to be stronger, faster and harder to bring down.
                              TPW (N/A) Rookie QB’s who throw hard are still going to throw hard. This doesn’t change.
                              TAC (-10) Rookie QB’s who were so accurate in college, now step into a faster paced game full of more audibles, more timing routes, faster defenders, etc. Accuracy will definitely take a hit some.
                              PBL (-7) Pass blocking will be affected.
                              RBL (-7) Run blocking will be affected.
                              KPW (N/A) If you can kick 70 yards, then nothing is going to change that. The ball isn’t heavier.
                              KAC (-7) If you were an accurate kicker, your technique won’t change, but the level of speed and strength of who’s coming after you will definitely affect your mentality – this is the rating that should dive any.
                              STM (-7) Stamina is your body’s ability to keep going, but you are getting hit harder and faster, now.
                              INJ (-5) Getting hit harder and faster will likely make you a bit more prone to injury.
                              TGH (-7) Again, you will find out you aren’t as tough in the NFL as you were in college. It’s just reality.


                              Seriously. If all the stuff in blue changes or gets randomized...then it's still broken.
