Does Height and Jump really matter in madden?

Have you ever noticed any advantage that taller players have in Madden?I play madden alot and it frustates me when i throw a deep ball or fade route to a reciever and a much shorter corner just jumps over him and picks it. Okay for example i was playing online bengals vs bears, i throw a fade route to aj green against tim jennings and tim jennings just out jumps him and picks it off. Green is 6ft4 and jennings is 5ft8. Its like the animations dictate how high the reciever will jump instead of his ratings. Certain catch animations make the reciever jump really high regardless of jump ratings. Im just wondering if anyone else feels the same way. When i play i usually like to have tall recievers on the outside but now im starting to realize it doesnt even matter about height

I have not notice if height and jump matter. I've seen Calvin johnson get shut down by smaller CB's....sigh....

Hopefully M25 will have fixed this......

Height is a pretty big deal in M13 especially on deep streaks, jump balls, outs and post routes. It all depends on how you use the WR's

Height matters, but maybe not in ways you'd expect. Receivers generally don't play aggressively and QBs throw the ball to weird spots, so you don't see the plays you expect. I don't think I've ever seen a receiver come back to the ball, for example. Further, because throws go toward players and not towards spots on the field, you see some interactions that don't make sense. Height and jump can help, but the weird throws and passive receivers force you to throw away some normal football logic.

height is easily one of the most important attributes, it has been for years

it does to me...if you are playing with Calvin Johnson and get shut down by a smaller CB and dont have at least 8+ catches you need to practice

Height and jump doesn't matter except for on fade routes in the end zone.

you cannot capitalise on height in Madden due to a small amount of animations and the fact that midget CBs can defy gravity and the laws of physics to outjump a WR when trailing by 5 yards with their back to the ball.

To anyone who says that height can trigger more animations you are wrong. I've had instances where a 5;10 WR has morphed forwards to start their spectacular catch animation.

Weight also doesn't matter with regards to trucking or even durability... The game is a joke in this regard.

If you're not user catching then of course Height and Jump don't really matter. You're letting the cpu control your wideouts, allowing them to openly screw you on any catches.

If Calvin is getting shut down by someone 5"10' then you just need to practice. Calvin is an absolute beast on this game, if you know how to use him and know how to user catch.

Throwing streaks/fades deep down field (30+ yards) with pass lead inside, height , jump and spc matter. other than that no. because if you press "up" while throwing to the WR it will lead him down field instead of throwing it up in the air.

I'm on a Online CCM we cannot control the WR. It's more for a sim kind of play, it shouldn't be only the USER to make a difference the CPU should do the same. We know Megatron is a beast, when facing a CPU he's terrible.

Height - no, not because of not user-controlling but because the ball will alter its flight to fit a play.

I had one my DBs (CPU controlled) get a pick against a taller WR AND the ball was going to be over my DB's outstretched hands...

...except the game "rolled" an INT so the ball had to lower to fit into the DB's hands. That's why it doesn't matter, imo.

Jump...perhaps inconjunction with SPC or AGI? Haven't really done any testing with it since Moore is my only (decent) high SPC WR - so no one else to compare him to on the roster that isn't going to be worse by other attributes (Akia Green, for example, is only 70-something SPC so of course he's not going to be as good there).

Nope. Does not matter at all.

I was in the NFC Divisional game vs the Redskins in 2017, and a 3rd string 62 overall safety with 75 JMP (at 6'0, 185) decided to jump 40 inches from a standing position to intercept my lob pass.

I won 32-29 in OT, but would've saved me that extra 5 minutes of my life if the game didn't blatantly cheat.

Why can he do that but my 85 overall safety (6'0 180) with 90 JMP not be able to?
