put the packers 3rd stringers in on both sides and my results were this.
3rd string qb for packs made a few short throws and could not throw down field unless he wanted int or a player was wide open, which was a good sign.

1st string Seattle D could not get through the line though at all against all O line players in there 60s. Very sad to see this.

Lynch could not run at all, had very tough time getting through and breaking tackles.
3rd string wide recievers still caught the ball decent enough and I even had TEs in at wr in the 50s.

Wilson still threw 2 picks against bad cbs and safteys.

Was using roadmans sliders.
Has anyone other than me tried this yet and what results did you get?

I put an OL at TE for GB and noticed he released off the line, ran routes and performed after the catch on par with any other athletic TE. Didn't behave at all like a 300+ pound lineman.

What was the difficulty on? This isn't good but it's not like you will ever play vs 3rd stringers? It does tell you that difficulty>ratings as far as gameplay goes.

It's not likely that you would ever play your 3rd string vs a team's starters, but what this does is make all roster building in franchise mode completely useless.

Patrick Willis is a beast at TE in this game. One game so many of my players got hurt on offense that Patrick Willis had to play TE and he was beastin.

The worst part of this is the problems with the pass rush. It just goes to show you that 4-3 DEs are completely neutered in this game and their ratings mean nothing.

EA's Fifa series is the only sports game I've ever played where player's stats actually matter. Two players rated 80 can perform drastically different based on their body type and secondary stats.

I put my 2nd string ol in madden 13, there is a difference.....

Yes, putting a K in an OL spot (someone did this a few years back) and have him block DL is wrong & needs to be addressed. Same as putting the OL at the TE spot and having him not miss a beat.

Hopefully this is something that can be fixed with Next Gen

I have to disagree. Though Fifa's individuality is better than Madden's...if you have to compare it to PES's individuality it's laughable. And I'm not a PES fanboy at all, Fifa is the superior game at the moment.

One thing PES is probably the best at in all of sports gaming is player individuality. Players run like themselves, play like themselves. If you put your defender as a striker you have close to no chance of scoring goals (unless you go for headers). While in Fifa, if I put John Terry (defender) as a striker he still finishes quite well with his feet.

Personally I think it's all about the sliders. Hopefully the true game is much more balanced.

To anyone that might be thinking "why would these people ever be at TE in real life", let me expound a bit more. The point is that these other players, whether Patrick Willis or the OL have skill ratings for route running, acceleration, agility, etc, which should determine how they perform at any given position. Willis is an extreme injury case but with the OL I used, he was listed in the depth chart to play TE and teams use OL at TE frequently, usually for an extra blocker but sometimes in short yardage passes. Anyway, the point being that, at least in this instance, ratings only seem to matter for the outcome, ie catching or making a play on the ball but nothing else.

The bigger deal about all of this is that it's likely that ratings only matter for outcomes at most, if not all positions. All Kickers and punters probably animate the same, ratings just determine where the ball goes, every DE probably uses the same pass rush animations, ratings just determine which ones get more sacks, etc.

Unless I am completely wrong, this game is all about outcomes, with very little representation of the processes, ie it's one big shortcut of a football video game.

but for franchise mode/ owner mode it kills it. I no longer will need a highly rated player to compete. lol. thats laughable , now i can use a guy rated a 60 OVR for cheap and produce the same instincts a 90OVR would. not good.
