    Madden and rating animations

The main issue with gameplay is that all players move and play the same.
With every player being able to do all animations makes the game boring and stale. Rating should be tied to the animations. Tackles, bigs, jukes, running styles, catches, bull rushes, swim moves, awareness. All these rating 1-99 at different levels should have there own animations. Think about this. Why when you put a p or a k in at o-line you can't tell the difference. Because the kicker is using the same animations as the LT so it looksvand seems like there is no difference. Now if the game had bad blocking animations for bad blocking rating you would automatically see the difference. Where I would really like to see this is with broken tackles. Their is no way we should see Vick trucking a DT. But in madden it happens. Now what if with his low trucking rating they took all trucking animations from Vick. Now you wouldn't see him trucking anybody.
All rating should be tied to animations so we wouldn't be seeing things that shouldn't be happening in madden.

I 100% completely agree. Ratings NEED to mean almost everything. In real football talent and skill means everything. Ratings are there to reflect talent and skill. Therefore ratings should mean everything.

You're 100% right, very few ratings mean anything in Madden, which is ridiculous.

I'm astounded that this has yet to be implemented.

This makes me think they are just lazy and don't want to spend the time to do it and they don't have to with no comp.

No excuse for not having signature styles yet.

Im not sure this gens tech could handle so much diversity. That being said who knows if EA even considered it.
Even more reason why the NFL did gamers a complete disservice with its exclusive rights deal.
Next Gen is poised to be able to handle things like this tho. When you can take advantage of cloud processing, really the skies the limit.
By Chistmas this year, we will have some really great gaming upon us..and on both generations of consoles.

We need signature animations BAD...just to separate the shifty HB's from the bruisers. The elite route runners from the home run hitting speedsters. The finesse DE from the bull rush DE.

With the CPU power and memory next gen is most definitely capable of doing it. The question is will EA implement it?

something as simple as the way a player carries the ball can make a huge difference. The way a player moves or releases the ball. The way some QB's have that 6th sense when pressure is near and slide step around the pocket

100% cosign this thread. Madden is disgustingly generic. Sad part is even the animations they do have don't look like stuff I see on Sundays.

yeah I agree, this area needs plenty of work, only ratings that matter at the skill positions are speed agility and acceleration.

                        Maybe position based ratings?

Don't wanna get banned but NBA 2k already has the concept of locked animations. You can't give a 40 dunk/layup guy the same packages as a 99 dunk/layup guy. I can't see how Madden never tried implementing something like this
                          NFL:New England Patriots
                          NBA:Boston Celtics

I agree with the thread but I'll also play devil's advocate. Even poor or average players occasionally make great plays. If you lock animations to ratings then you are ensuring that certain players never make certain plays. While that may sound good at first, it also takes you from one extreme to another.

I agree. That's why the game just becomes lifeless..... Aside from a players # there is nothing that truly sets them apart, compound that with the utter lack of so many facial scans...
