    Getting killed on kick returns

I have a lot of trouble defending against kick returns so far. I gave up 2 touchdowns and had 50 yard+ returns against me in online games so far. It seems as soon as the returner makes a move to the outside a lot of times my defense gets stuck on the wrong side of the field with only the kicker left to defend.

    Any tips for me ?

The coverage is horrible in this game I just suggest kicking the ball up high and letting your people run down for the tackle

      Get a stronger kicker! LOL

But seriously, It helps if you can kick them into the back of the end zone. I had an issue giving up bigger returns in NCAA 14. I always kicked it to the right corner but they always got huge returns. So I started kicking it straight down the middle and when I switched to a different player other than the kicker I made sure he stayed in his "lane" until he got blocked. I use to try a steer the guy I was controlling to the ball carrier which led to big returns this year. However I found out if I keep my lane the returns are limited. Ive played 8 games and havent let the opposing team start higher than the 40.

Seems that this year getting max power on you kicks is crucial

2 ways of going about it if your teams kicker cant reach the back of the endzone.

          1) Choose kick off right or left. Then direct kick toward which ever side you chose. This will help corral the returner. **Note** User an inside guy and dont let the returner run allllll the way back across the field.

          2) Choose kick off right or left. Then direct to which ever sideline and kick the ball high up in the air, making his TE field it.

I'm playing with the Bears online and literally gave had to put Anderson, Williams and Hester on my special teams to cover kickoffs. Kick it off to the left, user Hester and dart for the sideline cause ppl try to bounce it out 95% of the time. Its been working so far.

I'm still having issues with kick return coverage. I tried a few of your suggestions but I noticed that as soon I miss a little on the meter resulting in a shorter kick I risk giving up a TD in the return. It's really frustrating because I haven't had that problem since Madden 11.

Stay in your lane and be quick to switch to a free player to make the tackle. I notice that if you are close enough, diving at the player or even in front of the returner should be enough to have him make a move and have a teammate make the play if you don't trip him up.

I usually try to user someone besides the K and swerve to try to get past blockers. Also try to cut the returner off from the sidelines.
