I'd bring out a 46 defense and change it to the 'Speed' package which subs LB's for DB's. He'll see that and instantly think he'll have your defense beat- which then I'd man align- then individually press the WR he has coming back.

It all depends on if he rolls out to the same side of if he's going left AND right which would be a problem. Also, what team are you using?

              Corner blitz the strong side

              Contain the weakside

Maybe throw a spy in there if necessary

              Enjoy!

None if this has worked and I have been victim to what the OP is talking about. What happens to me is that the opponent would freaking playmaker his RB/WR and they just break and change direction at the speed of light while the QB is scrambling for his life and still makes a wide open accurate throw.

I'm calling it now that this little gimmick will be the norm for the next few days until a true counter comes about as the Offense has been on a pancake tear and Olinemen move upfield suction blocking too fast and easily.

Its like "hike and run east or west" when you play online and its a damn shame too. Overall this is a solid game but it is launch week so people are trying to figure out things to benefit them and undermine the AI as always!

But thanks for the thread and advice in here aswell, just none of it worked for me especially covering the flats and post routes they turn into comebacks with my defenders right there and the ball morphs thru them.

                  Against 5WR:

Quarters 2 man under (corners play an underneath trail technique taking away quick slants)

Pinch shift the DL inside but don't change their crash assignments (they take a sharp angle outside this way)
^^^^^^ very crucial step and if you are Denver use LB pass rush

Manually move deep safeties down to the to about 10yards off of the ball.

Control the spy and help on either of the inside WRs if they beat the press coverage off the snap. You lurk the middle of the field as well. If not follow the QB and if he takes off right for the sideline track him down.

If his rolls out immediately the DE will get to him. I get 4 or 5 sacks against empty formations with Lamar Houston. I can only imagine would Von Miller would do.

Most people do too much better to defend empty sets. I'm going to make them prove they can beat under man. Mix this in with a timely cover 4 call and they can squirm.

vs 5 wr as 9ers you can go either 2-3-6 Sam, change RE to Aldon, ROLB to Bowman, McDonald to Justin, High SS to Whitner and McBath or Brock to be the dime CB, playmaker Bowman to Spy.

or Quarter Normal 2 man under spy and use the linebackers package and change the NT to your best BSH DE.

they will see 3 down lineman and then you have Aldon do his thing with Brooks the other side

Bowman isnt dumb and will react or flip and make Pat spy which frankly should worry any scrambling QB with his intangibles and speed
