Quick slants are killing me. No matter what defense I call theyvarecalways completed for 6-8 yards. What can i do to combat this.? I'm know I can't stop them every time but I need to stop them sometimes.

Re: Stopping routes in the middle.
Try man to man, no press, with the MLB in a yellow zone. Works better if you have good corners, if you have Revis he should be able to cover one-on-one.Comment

Re: Stopping routes in the middle.
ive noticed that man coverage seems to be the best. like a simple 2 man under or a cover 1 seem to get the job done. since my first game, i have not allowed more than 14 points on default all pro. also control the db. just hold down a and the guy seems to stick with the reciever for the most part, allowing for ur cpu de/dt to maybe get a sack or a hurried throwComment

Re: Stopping routes in the middle.
If you just have a WR on one side of the field man him up with your FS but if he streaks be aware lol

Re: Stopping routes in the middle.
If your good at reading routes I would suggest usering the safety. Once that receiver goes for the slant either jump it and get a pick 6 or light up the WR for a fumble.Comment

Re: Stopping routes in the middle.
Try putting multiple LBs into hook zones. LBs generally have higher hit power and being in zone coverage they will square up to receiver and hopefully jar the ball loose either for an incomplete pass or maybe even a fumble.
Those short passes over the middle are annoying but my philosophy is that the offense will need to complete way more of them in order to score while I only need to break up a couple to stop them.Comment

Re: Stopping routes in the middle.
do you have safeties with high hit power and atleast 70+ tackling?
Good thing my team is the cowboys. Barry Church and JJ wilcox (rookie) hit power are both in the high 80's. I just smack wr's coming across the middle. Im good for a fumble or 2 a game. I user the safety or middle linebacker to patrol the middle.
JJ wilcox is a underrated beast. Only a 67 over. But high hit power and tackle rating makes him a good user controlled person. I smack wr's, te's and rb's. JJ gets me atleast one fumble a game by himself.Comment
