How well does the CPU handle player cuts?

I remember last year a lot of complaints about the CPU handling player cuts in preseason poorly.

Does anyone notice if that problem seems to be better this year?

I remember examples like CPU controlled teams cutting second and third round picks to keep players who were rated lower OVR...

I still see young players getting cut, like McCluster. Nothing completely outrageous, but still not realistic. I'll check when I'm back at home, but I do remember seeing another one last night that would never ever happen.

      Good to know, thanks.

I was hoping they would address this.

I have seen the Giants release Linval Joseph, the Ravens release Terrence Cody, and the Bengals release Domata Peko. It must be a DT thing.

Moreno didn't get cut for me, but McCluster did.

I feel like it should be the other way around.

If I remember correctly it was the way the CPU would view the overall of players in the preseason.

Rookies whom don't have many of their ratings revealed yet, are sometimes displayed as having an OVR of "99?"

The problem is the CPU views this as if the rookie actually had an OVR rating of 99. Really the rookies rating will turn out to be 56 or something terrible once all of their ratings are revealed. But by then the damage is already done because the Moreno's and Darren Sproles type players are already cut.

I'm not surprised they didn't fix it however, this is EA we're talking about.

                        ...???

Unless I am missing something and they changed it from last year, you already know the attributes of rookies in the preseason

I was testing this out a little last night, but what I try to do is have some cap room for the free agents that get released and if something is fishy (say a team releases someone who they shouldn't over some lowly rated rookie) then I try to sign the player as a free agent then trade them to their former team for either a 7th round pick or their worst player.

This sometimes works unless they are already loaded at the certain position then they sometimes don't even take the player even though you are handing him to them on a platter. I would say around 6-7/10 times this works, and the other times I can just live with it.
