Connected Franchise: Can't sign free agents

So I started an offline owner mode as the saints with pretty much default rosters other than a few jersey number edits and putting vonta leach on the ravens.

Anyway I've been to look in free agents a few times during the pre season and I can't sign any of the players who started out as free agents because their contracts are set at $0 and are 2 or 3 years in length and when I try to sign them it says the offered contract is invalid.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so do you know a way to change the contracts or another way around it?

at this point I wouldn't recommend offline owner mode. its a disaster. I can't even get my players in year 2 to be on my team in games. they go play for the other team, or disappear all together. the entire mode is awful

online there seems to be far less game ending bugs, however thanks to the current draft class issue where we have the same draft class repeating more than once in a CFM, CFM overall is pretty much dead to me

This is pathetic. What a complete waste of money. This mode is the only reason I play the game. Beyond frustrated with the problems this mode has.. Sooo typical

I have simed owner for the Raiders offline twice. Both times I resigned Sebass and he disappeared when season 2 starts. I found no indication he had retired. One time I had money and one time I was negative. This last time I could not resign Houston because I did not have enough money but I could sign a free agent for more money? The first time I got a warning I was going to be fired or something if I continued to run out of money. It was a big red warning. There were no hints or anything that could help me prevent what was going to happen. I could not improve my coach at all. I am not sure if the PC was spending his points or not. Both sims I could not start preaseason because I did not have enough players to play a game and it would not allow me to sign anyone. Way to many bugs to get stuck after hours invested. Stay away from owner mode offline.

Which system are you having problems on? Xbox or PS3?

Ok so I tried starting an owner mode with default roster and when I went into free agents this time I was able to sign all players and they had 1 year deals. So it looks like messing with default rosters free agents was the problem oh well not a big deal for me really.

This happened in my online Raider's franchise too. I wonder what gives?

Yea that's bad news for people who want custom rosters but I haven't seen this problem either w/ default ones.

This just happened to me..I've had several ccms controlling all 32 teams with custom rosters and did not experience this issue previously. I don't know what triggered it. It's frustrating because of the hours I spent editing rosters schemes auto subs for each team. Does anyone know what triggers this FA glitch and how to correct
