So this is PS3 offline owner mode and coach mode testing just to be clear. Using the New York Jets. The issue is that changing schemes does not change player overalls when it should be.

First example... using the Jets Coach, Rex Ryan.

Default offensive scheme Power Run. Default QB1 player scheme West Coast.

QB ratings:
Smith 74
Sanchez 73
Quinn 68

FA QB ratings:
Tebow 76
Carr 74
Skelton 71

Chicago Bear QB ratings
Cutler 88
Johnson 68
McCown 65

When I switch the schemes to Vertical Offense and the QB1 to Strong Arm these are the ratings:

QB ratings:
Smith 78
Sanchez 76
Quinn 70

FA QB ratings:
Tebow 76
Carr 76
Skelton 77

Chicago Bear QB ratings
Cutler 90
Johnson 74
McCown 62

They change appropriately immediately after I change my scheme.

They do not change based on changing scheme in Owner mode. I tried advancing week and checking again and they still did not change.

The other problem is that the offensive and defensive scheme for the Jets are BOTH different when using Rex Ryan than it is when using the Owner, Woody Johnson. When using Rex the offensive scheme is Power Run and defensive scheme is 3-4. When using Woody Johnson the offensive scheme is West Coast and the defensive scheme is Attacking 4-3.

When I view the list of owners Woody Johnson has the offensive scheme listed as Power Run and the defensive scheme as Attacking 3-4, but when I start my franchise as him and get into the scheme menu it is listed as West Coast/Attacking 4-3. I am guessing this is a bug. Not sure if this behavior occurs with other teams or not.

I would not recommend playing Owner mode if you want a bug free game. Either you play as a Coach with working/correct schemes minus the additions or you play as an Owner with the extra additions but non-working/wrong schemes. I hope we can get this to EA's attention and have it fixed. It is frustrating to your consumer when you implement features that are broken. The wind meter is still broken from like 3 years ago, I don't want to feel like a beta tester I want to just enjoy the game. It took me only 10 minutes to figure out this was all broken.

Can anyone else who has been playing an OFFLINE OWNER mode comment on if their overalls change when you change the schemes? It may be a Jets only problem.. just when I thought the season couldn't get any worse..

yep, it makes sense. In my Bills franchise as a owner, i worked on schemes and it was fine before you press the button "start franchise". After that, nothing changes anymore, no matter what scheme you use. Kyle Williams becomes a 60 ovrl after the franchise starts, and you can't do anything about that. i think i will need to play as a coach.

In trade and resign salary matters I guess it would. Not on the field, though.

I did that in Owner mode and the only ratings changes are 1 or 2 points from progression not from the scheme change.

In Coach mode you don't have to sim/advance week the ratings adjust instantly.

I think it may be a problem with specific teams. So far the Jets and Bills it sounds like are affected. Can anyone else doing an offline owner mode try this? Just check your players OVR in the depth chart with your current scheme, go to Team > Schemes, change offensive scheme to something different and QB1 scheme to something different and tell us if your QB's OVR is the same or different.

I have only played as a owner and I keep seeing the same draft classes. Including back to back years, of the same players... Killed my career.

Last year they mixed it up. Is this just how it is now?Or first year you see the same guys each career? I don't know if its a glitch or just crappy programming.

i can confirm that with the Jags the ratings do not change when you change your scheme.
The other thing is, in the FA screen Tebow shows as 76 for me. When im in game, and look at my depth chart, he is barely 71. Not sure if this is "schemes" taking effect or not, bit late really if the only way you can see the rating change is by playing a game.

I noticed that last year too. Someone explained to me those in game ratings are affected by their performance. For example if a qb is rated an 90 but is playing like crap during the season his in game rating would be less and just the opposite if he is performing well.

For the AI it does, as this is how the AI measures the worth of a player iirc. I believe that is the whole point of overall, is a rough estimate of a players worth.
