Re: Best Madden ever?

1. Madden 25 - I am having more fun with this game than any other Madden before it. Immersive, really organic compared to all other Maddens on the field, controls feel great, Graphics are terrific, CFM is totally addicting.

2. Madden 2005 - Until 25 was the pinnacle for me. A truly great game for it's time. Played this to death.

3. Madden 1999 - ground breaking for it's time and one I put in countless hours.

4. Madden 12 - Solid, great graphics, great cameras and replays, lousy passing game. Until 25 the only current gen Madden I played more than 4 full seasons (played 4 seasons on Madden 10 with a fantasy draft team).

5. Madden 93 - pure nostalgia, played hours uponhours with my roommate. It was a superbly fun game for it's time.

Honorable Mention - Madden 10 - It was my first Madden for the PS3. I really liked how it felt and played but too many little annoying bugs and a totally stripped down franchise mode killed it for me long term. Still it is a quality game in the series.

No, I'm asking if the gameplay is still scripted to keep the weaker gamers interested & buying the game.
I remember that ad. And I'm pretty sure it's the same thing I was referencing. User vs User could play on different difficulty levels. I can play on my custom setting and my kid can play on his custom setting. If my kid passes all over me because his setting calls for rookie level pass defense, then after the game that rating will adjust.

I'm not saying that sometimes things don't feel scripted. Sometimes there are games you're just supposed to lose. But then if you quit and start over, things go differently... I've had that happen to me on occasion.

But I'm pretty positive Madden would not advertise scripted gameplay.

A ton of video games nowadays make things easier on the user. Even the shooters have 'skip' options if you die enough times at a difficult spot. It's pretty lame.

I like how on NBA 2K games there is an option for it. I think it's called 'clutch factor.' My friends and I call it catchup.

I don't get what you're saying, they did advertise it was scripted as proven by that ad...

And also the official description...

Don't quite get what you mean when you say that you don't think they would advertise scripting. They just did with Madden 09...

The game auto adjusts itself if you're finding things too difficult (or too easy) & this obviously has to come at the expense of the others doing poorly.

"continually accessing our performances"

What they're talking about here is DDA

Re: Best Madden ever?

I would like to know if my team will start doing stuff like this VERY often if I get better at the game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TClJMeFr94

That^ + manipulate passing & whatnot

I don't care of you should still win if you're good enough, I want "real gameplay" all the time & not see good play being punished.

I agree with #1 and #2 completely. I was on active duty when 2005 came out and when I wasn't on duty, I was in my barracks room playing this. I was totally addicted to it, still miss aspects of it that have yet to rebirth in newer Madden games. But, now that the patch has fixed my Madden 25, I'm really starting to enjoy this game more and more.

I really didn't care for 10 or 12. When I bought 10 it made me revert back to original xbox. When I bought 12 I just reverted back to 11 until 13 came out.

As for Madden 93, well my first Madden was '94 on the Sega, so thats MY nostalgia pick.
