    DBs drop everything

I'm not sure if this is a problem with my controller or what, because I lose games sometimes because my DBs drop 4 or five picks in a game. I don't play online anymore and this is a big reason why. I keep getting matched up against deep-ball spammers but I drop every interception when I use Ball Hawk. Is anyone else having this problem?

I haven't played online in a while but yes, my guys would drop five or six INTs a game. Same thing in my CCM as well.

The thing that makes me even more upset and my #1 gripe, is the the fact that the Intercept button doesn't work 85% of the time.

I agree just played a game online I held the triangle to pick the ball off and its just clanking off my db's hands like the ball was made of rubber or something. heck even offline its the same way think u have a pick and its clank........... off the db hands .

Didn't they add stone handed DBs for "realism"

It's not realistic for a corner to drop a ball that's thrown directly to him.

You are assuming, incorrectly, that the apparent "ease" of the catch relates to whether or not the ball is caught. A DB with no WR near him with X awareness and Y catch rating vs a QB with Z throw accuracy etc will catch a ball _____number of times. In the hands, via super jump, etc isn't relevant to the mathematical equation. If a WR is close enough then his catch rating will factor in.....or it's a one handed catch (spectacular catch) then that is another variable. But to assume that Champ Bailey standing still with no one around would catch 10/10 passes that were lobbed to him is incorrect.

EA doesn't do situational football. It's straight math based on hard numbers with possibly/likely a small random variable tossed in for "realism" and "dynamic" play.

Otherwise, half the league's QB's would have 40-50+ picks per year.

Still seams super unrealistic. Especially because DBs can twist their bodies in half and make superman picks while running at full speed but can't catch a ball thrown right towards them.

The CPU controlled team doesn't drop many and pulls off some super human catches. Sometimes they intercept the ball without even turning to face the ball lol

Nearly every pick I throw is because of psychic DBs that can catch without knowing the ball is behind them.

Yeah I almost lost a game because I had so many dropped picks....can be frustrating at times.

                      Re: DBs drop everything

I believe the DB's are coded behind the scenes to drop more passes because EA/Tiburon are not yet able to program what is needed to mimic what we see in a real game, so they use band-aid programming and number calculation manipulation to try and balance out the overall totals of events like incomplete passes and bad throws...

So instead of calculating a bad pass and having the engine replicate the proper trajectory to arm motion and accuracy level of the QB, they just calculate bad pass and have a DB drop the pass or the receiver gets "hit hard" and drops the ball, which is the new one for M25.

There are over throw animations in game, as well as at least one animation of throwing too far ahead of the receiver or too far behind, I have seen them at least, but they do not trigger as often as they should...For some reason, I do not know why, the programmers have not reworked the coding to increase the frequency of the bad pass animations...

(I am not a programmer and therefor this is only my guess, nothing more.)
