    Regression When Advancing to Preseason

A lot of my players regress significantly when I exit the offseason.

What causes this? Is there anyway to anticipate this and ration my XP points? Tired of seeing players I've developed drop 3-5 points for no reason.

    Thanks.

Hotstreaks and coldstreaks don't carry into the next season. this is usually what causes the overall to drop.

but if you notice, the actual attribute ratings do not drop, just the overall.

I also believe that production factors into the overall and at the beginning of a new season, production resets

This is due to age and off season inactivity. You need to hire better trainers

          I noticed this too.

But then I realized their ratings were not dropping and just their OVR is dropping. I figured out it was because there "production" rating was reverting back to zero for the season.

Which begs the question... Did they remove regression completely? Do older players never drop in ratings until they retire?

I seriously love how when we look for answers to one question, we get more questions >.<

                They absolutely do.

Easiest example is watching a skill position player's Speed drop. HB's once they creep near/at 30, starts to fall dramatically.

                    Good to know, thanks.

When did you see the drop occur? Is it when you advance from off-season to the next pre-season?

What other stats do you notice regress besides speed?

I'm half way through year 3 of my current franchise. I want to write down all of my players' stats and see what drops in the following season, any insight on what stats drop for 30+ age guys will help..

I have seen, under team goals, for QBs and LBs players can gain regression points for things such as throwing 3 INTs in a game or giving up too much rushing yardage. These production goals might be a factor.
