    Using the read option

Can someone explain to me what button to use on the read option? Cause when I call the play and I know to read which player, after I hike it I press the LB button when I'm about to fake it so I can give the rb the ball but my qb keeps it all the time and then I get tackled for a loss so can someone tell me the right button please lol?

    Re: Using the read option

Single reads are just the R icon. Read the player. If they crash down the line towards the running back, don't press anything. That's a keep. If he stands still and chops his feet, hold A (Xbox) or X (PS) to give the ball to the back.
If it's a triple option you will see two icons on the defense. R is for read and do what I said above. The P is for the pitch. The pitch man will attack the QB or float to the pitch man. To pitch the ball, press the LB (Xbox) or L1 (PS).
It comes easy to me since I am a huge NCAA player. Takes time for others to get the hang of. Hope this helps

I will typically hold the "A" button at the snap and release it if I decide to keep. I'd rather accidentally hand off than keep.

The bumper is used on some plays like the triple option.

Go check out the trainer mode inside the game. It has a section just for the option and will explain everything to you in about 2 minutes.
