Hot Route Reverse Slant
Anyone know if there is a way to hot route a reverse slant where the receiver slants towards the sidelines rather than over the middle? I really want to make it so they are running straight up and the do a 45 degree angle towards the sideline. I feel like this is one of the most effective routes.Tags: None -
Re: Hot Route Reverse Slant
There is no "out slant" in the NFL, you can do a "whip" route, by hot routing a "slant" to the outside, it works best from the slot with a Wes Welker type with the outside receiver clearing out the area.
You can find plays that have a "corner" route where the receiver goes up the field then breaks out to the sideline. -

I know this isn't related to your specific question, but it is interesting to note you could do this in Madden 08 with great success. It was a good route in that game from the slot because you could lob or bullet and lead outside or up the field all depending upon the coverage.XBOX Series X Gamer Tag: AlsbronComment

It was removed because of its effectiveness and replaced with the zig/route. The problem in reality was/is the defense. You don't see (or at least I don't) see the out route run a lot in the NFL because it's a hard throw with a high probability of pick 6.Psn: Plex-07Comment

Re: Hot Route Reverse Slant
this is why you dont ask questions on OS. All these noobs love giving the wrong answer. Certain plays on offense allow you to hot route the route you are asking for. But I wont bother telling you because I love seen all the stupid responses you just got.Comment

How will anyone recover from being called a "noob" by some sad kid with nothing to say, who's so delusional he thinks people are impressed by him bragging about how great he thinks he is at a video game on the internet.
Keep laughing, you're a real winner hahahahahahahaComment
