Only in the off season by going to the roster tab and selecting the player and then selecting edit. DE can go to DT or OL and other similar moves. You cannot make a WR a QB. You MIGHT be able to make a QB a WR but I doubt it.

Incorrect.

Once you have started a franchise (the very second you name your league), you're limited to which positions you can change.

If it says "Offseason" in the upper corner, extra positions changes are available (but NOT any position). If it says Preseason or Regular Season or Post Season, you are very limited in which positions you can change.

A mostly comprehensive list:

OFFSEASON:
QB to WR, HB, or FB
HB to FB, TE, or WR
FB to HB, TE, or WR
TE to HB, FB, or WR
WR CANNOT BE CHANGED TO ANY OTHER POSITION - IT IS PERMANENT

YOU ALSO CANNOT CHANGE ANY POSITION BACK TO QB

ANY offensive lineman position (LT, LG, C, RG, RT) can be switched to any other offensive lineman position during the OFFSEASON. Also, they different offensive lineman positions all require the exact same amount of XP to upgrade, so there's no reason to try switching between them during the offseason in an attempt to save some XP - it's a waste of time.

DT to DE, or LB
DE to DT, or LB
LB to DE, or DT
NOTE: It's not quite as easy as this. It may take multiple steps, but during the offseason the front-7 positions ARE interchangeable. For example, I think to move a DT to MLB, you first have to move the DT to DE or L/ROLB, and then move them to MLB. But it IS possible.

CB to FS, or SS
FS to SS, or CB
SS to FS, or CB

To my knowledge, you cannot move offense to defense or vice versa.

Any time besides the OFFSEASON (we're talking Preseason, Regular Season, Post-Season), you can only make the following adjustments:

LT to RT
LG to RG

You cannot change HB, FB, TE, WR, QB, or C during the Pre/Regular/Post-Season.

LOLB to ROLB
LE to RE
FS to SS

You cannot change DT, MLB, or CB during the Pre/Regular/Post-Season.

Now, the one exception to this is, I believe you can move any player to any position if you make the edit to your GLOBAL ROSTER FILE BEFORE YOU CREATE YOUR FRANCHISE. You have to load your specific, pre-edited roster file when it asks if you want to import a roster while setting up your franchise.

In that case, you can turn a DT into the next JaMarcus Russell if you so desire.

Hope this helps. It's a convoluted process unless you have a cheat-sheet.
