    Madden 07 Gamecube 2021 rosters ported from Rogerjinx on footballidiot

    Update3: I've been playing with mwolfe's port here https://forums.operationsports.com/f...4&postcount=16. I think it seems stable so far but i'm not far into the season. I will summarize all the best practices soon to get stable ports. For now, use the link here in update3 for a franchise file.



    Update2: new attachment based on mwolfe's franchise! I imported players the depth chart and salary cap and it looks good. only thing now is positional requirements, any tips mwolfe? otherwise we may need to let the cpu sign the missing players.

    Update: new attachment based on mwolfe's roster. I also will update the instructions below but it turns out you need to copy just from 'DB' to the end of the data in that section and then replace just what you copied out of the gci file. And you may need to use EA DB editor instead of extreme editor but still testing that. Unfortunately, although this is now based on mwolfe's latest conversion for ps2, i am seeing the same issues with crash on starting franchies. In addition both in my previous attempts and this one, trying to edit the information of the bear's #3 center also causes a crash. Mwolfe - do you think this is due to position requirements or something else?



    Here is a save for dolphin containing Rogerjinx' 2021 roster ported to gamecube. I did auto-reorder depth charts this time so exhibition shouldn't crash.
    I am still debugging franchise, which doesn't work at all. I have perhaps removed too many free agents from some positions. I did adjust all the contracts to floor($*.57) to match the 180 mil salary cap of today being reduced to 102 in 06.

    This is truly incredible and something previously not thought possible. How did you do it? Are you gonna port this to other GameCube Madden games? (08 sorely needs it)

      Take a fresh franchise file of 07 from the Gamecube and name it whatever you want. extra the player, coach, depthchart cvs files from that file. extract the player cvs file from the rogerjinx file line up the teams and then line up the free agency then match the rogerjinx file free agency to the original Gamecube free agency.

      That will make it easier, you have to keep a little more of the rojerjinx players in different positions as it does not have as many players in certain positions as the original file.

        I looked at your player cvs file versus the one I put out for the PS2, did you cut players off of teams?

        Mine didn't line up with yours all the way down player for player on the 32 teams/

          Also I am working on a schedule for the 07 and 06 franchise files I am putting up for the PS2 later this week.

          Once I get it perfected would you like the cvs file to have to upload it into you franchise file?

            This would be the simplest way, yes please.
            Let me lay out a rough outline of the process, then I think I've figured out some of the weird stuff with players disappearing.
            You need:


            Madden Xtreme DB editor

            A roster (or franchise I think) in gci format (from dolphin)


            A hex editor


            1. Get a madden 08 pc roster (like rogers i linked to above)
            2. Open the file in the xtreme db editor and save the PLAY table as a csv.
            3. Make required changes to the csv: Reduce the number of total players by reducing the FA pool carefully (I just now found out all gamecube rosters saves are 31 8kb blocks which is why the PLAY table has a max for 2048 records - even though xtreme db editor can grow the table dolphin says it cant open the save file at all and the game doesn't even see it on the card). Change player portraits to cartoons (PSXP->0) change player role 1 and 2 to 45 i think for no role. Scale all salary related values down (2021 salary is 180 and back in 06 it was like 102?)
            4. Take your gci file and open it in a hex editor. Find the ascii text for 'DB' (note some text after this is reversed, this is an endian-ness issue and the key to opening gc saves -xtreme db editor seems to handle it as does madden 12 roster editor). So anyway take everything including 'DB' to the end of the *data section* (right before all 0s) and save it as a new file.
            5. open this new file in xtreme db editor and import the play table from step #3.
            6. save in xtreme db editor
            7. in your hex editor replace everything *you copied* with the contents of your file new saved from step 5.
            8. open the new save in dolphin and re-order all depth charts.
            9. profit?

            Notes: Players are disappearing as madden 12 roster editor was what i used prior. And it was cutting off entries past 2000... so random players just weren't making it to the roster. I am confident we can push this limit to 2048 actually but it may be worth sticking closer to 2000? I am open to any and all help and i'm super tired so i'm sorry about this not making enough sense. Will try to clean up the post tomorrow. Edit: In this article i found where the number of blocks are stored in a gc save: http://www.surugi.com/projects/gcifaq.html. But upon modifying the value from hex 1F (31) to hex 29 (what i needed for a test file), the game still wouldn't read the too-big file . But this only impacts having a huge play table. We can still make this work with less players.

              For Madden 08 and above 45 is default no role, in Madden 07 31 is default no role. I have most of that saved on a spread sheet in excel format.

              I don't worry about depth charts anymore as I edited my Madden 07 PC games game data in the DB_Templates and made it to where only the specific players go to their respected positions. So no more TE as FB's which is great as I don't have to worry about that.

              I have the roster files for Madden 07 and 08 you can download and look at to see the difference.
              Like you I use a hex editor and xtreme db, but I also use NZA Madden Editor for Madden 06 07 and his V2 for Madden 08.

              I make a copy of the file I edit so I have the unedited hex version and the hexed version with either .fra(franchise) or .ros(roster) at the end of it so I can open it in NZA editor and edit it even further.

              I also edit the Stats files which are PSDE, PSKI, PSKP, PSNG, PSOF, PCDE, PCKI, PCKP, PCNG, PCOF, PCOL which I export and delete all the info on it save it and import it back in so that the stats don't show on a player it doesn't belong to.

              You can also add stadiums you created to another Madden save by using the STAD file in Madden extreme DB.

              Also I have almost every attribute in the Madden roster named to what it is, I am only missing like 6 or 7.

              You have the basics of it down if you need help just let me know. I'm becoming a little addicted to modding this game. LOL

                  Ill download and look at the file and try and see what is making it crash.
                  Also you cant start a franchise with just the updated roster you actually have to make a base franchise file and then update the rosters after that.
                  For some reason if you edit the roster then try and go make a franchise file it will crash everytime. PS2 is like that too.

                    Yes so this time I created a vanilla franchise file and copied tables from your franchise file into it with extreme db editor. It does not crash, like you said. So for those who want franchise, gotta use the attached franchise file in post 1 of this thread. Regarding salary, i did copy the salary cap table, does that cover everything or are there other tables to compensate for the higher cap? Finally, I missed TEAM - if i copy that one then i think the free cap numbers will be accurate.

                        I had to fix the stadiums cvs as some of the stadiums were only for a modded PC version of Madden I went through added all the new Sal CVS files and Stadium CVS, I also took out the stats cvs files for the seasons and stuff which so that players don't have weird stats that don't belong to them.

                        I can go into more detail but I think thats a convo for direct messages or Discord.

                        The file is for you and your Gamecube. You can also copy most of this over for Madden 06 you just have to remove a few ratings from the players CVS file to match that of Madden 06 players cvs file.

                          Hi mwolfe, so have you noticed in simming a season that many teams don't have a FB to sign?
                          I got around this by editing a TE or HB to FB for the gap.
                          Then the following season after simming the offseason no qbs were left in the FA pool and the Rams only had 1.
                          Do you think we need to add FA's or does this not happen on ps2?
                          Also, I tried to include additional tables like TEAM and SCHD but the game wouldn't sim or let me play any regular season games.
                          Right now i think the big priority is probably this FA issue, what do you think?

                            The new file I posted should have more Qb's the the FA for them to sign. When I get home I'll write down all the table that are transferable between the two. I'm working on the salary table seeingbif I can adjust them so your not signing a great player for dirt cheap.
                            Do you use Microsoft Excel when you look at the tables or do you use a free version like excel?
                            I have most of the PLAY CVS filled out on what is what and the COCH CVS file on the important ratings that need to be changed .
                            It be easier to exchange CVS files this way to go back and forth with edits..

                              Hello again,
                              I've been making a Dolphin texture pack to try to update the game's graphics since we're getting updated roster/franchise thanks to you two. I've updated the Rams, Chargers, and Washington completely with uniforms and all since they needed it most. Also updated every NFL team's logo with higher res textures along with a few other graphical improvements. If someone who isn't new wants to post the link, feel free.
