How is your Team Doing?
How are you guys' teams doing? I haven't spent any money on my team although I bought the ultimate edition. My team is a respectable 76 overall. After losing my first head to head game I have won 8 straight. My 2 star receivers are and 80 overall Mike Evans and Harry Douglas and my defense is led by Mark Barron and Dashon Goldson. How are your teams looking?Madden 25 - Steelers

Re: How is your Team Doing?
This should be our official MUT Progress thread.
My team is going good. I am 1-0 in MUT H2H seasons. Will probably play my 2nd game tonight once I complete the Jets & Bears elite challenges.
I have 4 different lineups I am tinkering with, but I think my best lineup is my LP lineup. I was able to pull a Rising Star Mike Evans LP card in a pack, and then I bought a 2nd one on auction to get a boosted 18+ LP Mike Evans card...which just beasts BTW.
My team is a 78 overall w/ a 71 LP style rating. My top players are...
Offense:
LT Michael Roos 84 SP
WR Mike Evans 83 LP
QB Joe Flacco 80 LP
C Roberto Garza 78 LP
FB Leron McClain 76 LP
Defense:
CB Sean Smith 81 MD
DE Jason Babin 75 MD (style boost challenge version)
FS Quin Glover 81 MD
LOLB Julius Pepper 79 MD
I need to continue upgrading my offensive line. Everyone on it is at least a 73 or higher, but I could upgrade at LG, RG, and RT.
On the defensive side, I need that Vontaze Burfict MD boosted Team Captain card. I need some upgrades at CB, SS, and along the DL to get some MD boosted players.Last edited by JBH3; 09-04-2014, 07:21 AM.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing. -
Re: How is your Team Doing?
I want to platinum this game and getting the bye week and making the MUT Championship is going to be a pain in the butt. If I can get those trophies this mode will be a lot more relaxing and fun for me. Right now I am running though Regular season Solo games since they pay well for winning. Trying to build up my coin base so I can start playing the AH market.Comment

Re: How is your Team Doing?
Here is my team so far, looking to just upgrade my secondary a little more and get another HB. Im on the man defense style(80 OVR), but I might switch to long pass.
QB:Jay Cutler
HB:Ben Tate, Pierce
WR:Antonio Brown
WR:Kendall Wright
WR:Ty Hilton
TE Eric Ebron/Jordan Reed
LT:Jason Peters
RT:Tyler Lewan
DE:Sheldon Richardson
DT:Brandon Membane
DE:Lamar Houston
OLB: Barkevious Mingo
MLB: KJ Wright
MLB: Donald Butler
OLB: Brandon Marshall
CB: Richard Sherman
FS: Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix
SS: Eric Reid
CB: Prince
CB: Cortez Allen
Majority of that team was built from the auction house, if you can play it right, you can get some extra coins buying low on some solid players and just putting the buy now for them at 300-400 more, it really adds up.Comment

Re: How is your Team Doing?
It took me a dozen tries last night to finally beat the elite Jets challenge. I was up until 0300 and had to wake up for work at 0630. Dragging. ***. Today.
Glad I beat it though. With the 4k in coins I was able to buy on auction DAL RG Berndeau and HB Ryan Matthews - both which are LP style boosts and have me now rated a 79 overall with a 74 LP Style rating.
Next thing I need to do is upgrade my kicker/punter....both are bronze cards.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

How do you upgrade players?
I'm jealous of everyone's team here... lol I feel like I have a lot to grasp on this mode. First time playing MUT and I feel a bit lost as to best strategy, packages, sets, upgrading players, gold, elite, etc...Comment

Re: How is your Team Doing?
This is my first time doing MUT. At first I was was saving up the little coins I got from the training camp solo challenges. Bought my first pack or two and got a couple decent players but everything was better than what you start with. Finally went to the auction house and saw the prices gold players were going for and decided to just buy players to fit my team. All the training camp challenges are on rookie anyway so not like I NEED good players to beat em. Luckily I bought one more pack and somehow got an elite Mario Williams 86 OVR. That was the last pack I bought though. Used him and my clowney starter and a couple pack pulls and the free aaron rodgers card to finish all training camp solos and bengals regular season. also all 4 weeklys.
So team sits at a solid 77 OVR with a 76 RS rating. I only have two players over 80. 86 Elite Mario Williams is my best card and just a lucky grab in that pack. 81 SS Burnett I bought for 2/3K coin in auction buy it now. Also recently picked up a 79 Soliai, 79 Spencer, 70 Dietrich-Smith at C, 78 KJ Wright for pretty cheap. My starters on defense are all at least Gold now.
On offense is where I will focus next as I get A LOT more coins for doing regular season solos. So focus on buying players in auction. Just narrow your search to whatever youre looking for and sort by buy it now price. I usually find one card going for a few K less than all the others are going for and just snag it up.Comment

Re: How is your Team Doing?
This is my first real go with MUT. I tried it last year, but I didn't care for the "reserve" roster, the tedious collections interface, and other UI elements. They're all much improved this year! I'm having much more fun this time.
Anyway, my team is doing OK. I'm 76 OVR with about 70 Short Pass style. (Still not sure exactly what that 70 style gets me, as the blue-highlighted stats aren't any higher than default.) My main focus is doing solo challenges, mostly the regular-season and training-camp ones. I've played exactly one online game, winning handily against a guy who threw long passes on every down. I may be unusual, but I mostly play this mode offline; I find it more relaxing.
I'm still using the free Aaron Rodgers, and a Toby Gerhardt. WRs include Riley Cooper and Jacoby Jones. Offensive line all gold guys in the mid-70s; improving this group is a top priority for me, as I never have direct control over them, but I need them to perform well. (You "user" the QB, RBs, and occasionally WRs, but never offensive linemen.) Still using the Richard Sherman freebie, along with a couple slightly better CBs. Mingo, Rambo and a couple other so-so LBs. Undistinguished safeties, too. Bronze and silver kickers for now; I just buy a new one for 100 coins from the AH instead of paying for new contracts. Sooner or later I'll upgrade these guys, but I don't need them to beat the easier solos right now.Comment

Re: How is your Team Doing?
My team is an 83 overall with a 73 rating in PR. I have a Gold level Jeff Fisher as my coach. My best player is an 85 Otto Graham at QB that I am on the verge of turning into a 91 Elite.
My problem is that I have never been a good online player. Right now I am 1-3. I lost last night to someone who clearly wasn't very good, but bad decisions (usually not a problem) and bad game play had me end up losing 14-0. Horrible. My run defense is especially vulnerable.

Assuming you are running a 3-4 defense, Ray McDonald is a really good DE that you can get for relatively cheap. I also had Cam Heyward, and McDonald is a significant upgrade especially in the run game. He is the best 3-4 LE in the game imo aside from Elite CampbellComment
