I have seen the trailor. It's head and shoulders better than last years version. I didn't purchase the game last year, but have seen gameplay videos on youtube.

Yes, it looks better and the animation look better, but I really can't tell you how good or bad this game will be by just looking at the trailor. I will purchase though.

Can someone clarify the customization for me? Can the full team name be changed? Like can I change the Gainesville Green to the Florida Gators? Or Tuscaloosa Stampede to Alabama Crimson Tide?

Yes, you can change the team names. You can change team colors for uniforms and helmets. You can swap/change logos and even create your own logo if you wish.

Would anyone be opposed to me starting a 'real names' thread? I don't want to get MF in trouble with the NCAA for licensing or anything but it's pretty obvious what a lot of the teams are supposed to be, be handy to have a list somewhere for those that want to change them to all the real names.

Given I'm not connected to the game in any way, I can't see doing something like that being any different to people proving real names for PES 2020 when it comes out like they do every year without issue.

I know someone's created a sheet with what he feels is the best fit for logo assignment with all 130 teams in it, but since they haven't been released to the public yet, it's patreon only. However, there are other sources that unveiled the team names already, mostly the Maximum Football subreddit (r/MaximumFootball).
