Price range for gaming PC that plays Madden well
I’m very interested in switching from consoles to the PC version just for the mods. I’ve never owned a gaming PC. What type of price tag should I be expecting to pay for good performance? Do you recommend a laptop or a desktop?Tags: None -
Re: Price range for gaming PC that plays Madden well
desktop is best specially if you might get into the modding.
as for system, look for specs the game requirements has and get at least something with the recommended specs, because while minimum specs will run, depending on what else is running it might not run as will at it can on the pc.
start there and decide what you fell comfortable with -

Just depends on what your trying to accomplish. I would get a desktop over laptop. You can upgrade your parts inside desktop if you want to down the road. Also look up what it takes to run madden on recommended specs vs lowest specs too. But prices can vary on what your trying to do.Comment

I spent $800, then upgraded RAM and added an SSD. I'm $1100 in or so. 3+ years ago, so its probably a solid mid-level machine, maybe even low-end mid-level rig now compared to most.
You picked a good time to buy. Watch the sales next week. Watch for potential upgrades next month.
I've never seen a game tax a machine the way Madden 24 does. Mind you, I only play sports games. But Madden 24 makes my rig run like its prepping for a missile launch.
You won't be able to cheap out if you expect to play M24, unfortunately.
The mods are absolutely amazing. You'll ask yourself why you didn't switch sooner. You want free speech?

I was just about to make a post about the same thing lol! I saw a video today on youtube by
Shady Mike Gaming about the mods. Good lord, it makes you wonder what the programmers at EA are doing. Link below

I saw a discord post from a guy that does extensive work on the playbooks, he said EA implemented a lot of his tweaks in 24.You want free speech?

Re: Price range for gaming PC that plays Madden well
Madden 24 is the first next Gen Madden on PC in a while and it TAXES a desktop. I started with a 10900k and 3080ti at 1440p. I had the cou for about a year and after getting Madden I got a 13900k. I have 2 Corsair xc7 in my rig. The system runs cool, but the room gets HOT. I also now play at 1440p ultra wide.

I think it's ridiculous that you can't run Madden 24 on a mid level PC. They should have implemented it to run on lower to mid based PC's. I have the highest chip I-5 processor, 32 gigs of ram, a Nvidia GTX 8gb of ram video card, Asrock MB, and still can't run it. It freezes on the loading screen. Anything to make you spend more $$Comment

Currently playing with everything cranked to the max on my rig and it looks great, plays really well.
Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti Super
Intel I7 137000
32gb ram
My rig was around $2500 or so.Comment

I run at max settings and get 120 FPS at 1440p with
i7 14700KF
RTX 4070 TI Super
32 GB RAM
My PC was $1850. I bought a 2 TB m.2 nvme expansion for ~$120 for more storage.
I wouldn't recommend a gaming laptop unless you travel a lot or if you're on the go and would like to game out of the house, on the road, etcetera. The GPUs just aren't as powerful (they can't be due to the space needed), and the amount of heat that gets compacted in such a small space in a gaming laptop makes them have shorter lifespans on average than a gaming desktop.Comment
