Brandon Nimmo and Pete Alsono each tallying their 4th home run of the spring was enough to defeat the Yankees 2-1 at Clover Park. The game wasn't as close as the boxscore might lead you to believe. The Yanks didn't feel like a threat at all, (maybe they're slumping) and my aggressiveness on the base paths with a team ranked 26th in speed, helped them get out of trouble.

On the technical side: I think Meter pitching is designed more for simulation than Pin Point, so I'll try that for a few games.

Giving up only 2 runs but scoring none, we came out flat against the Miami Marlins in Roger Dean Stadium after a day off. We struck-out 13 times in a 2-hit effort and ended our 3 game winning streak. That seems to be our pattern though; lose 1, win 3. I even tried to "cheat the system" by leaving in Lindor, Alonso, and Marte to face Tanner Scott to try and ruin the shutout, but it wasn't our night.

Our first consecutive loss thus far through 14 games. The Cardinals took a No-Hitter into the 7th and a shutout into the 9th before beating us 8-1 in the rain at Roger Dean Stadium. The 8 earned-runs-against took the team ERA back to over three at 3.12 for third best in all of baseball. Seattle and Philly stay at the top with 2.53 and 2.62, respectively.

About the No-No; When Lindor got on base in the 7th with a single, the commentary said "and the bid for history is gone". I, of course, laughed but upon a some research there is a little "history" to Spring Training no-hitters. There was even a Perfect game thrown not so long ago. Check it out here.
