I don't understand how there is not more interest here for this game.

Because when it comes to sports games, most gamers want realism and graphics, regardless of the other features. This is a pixel game with fake players, unfortunately, that means it will be ignored by the masses. If they only realized they're missing out on some of the best sports titles available (Legend Bowl, Super Mega Baseball, etc.).
