    NBA 2K26 Wishlist

Never too early, I always say. Here's some things I can think of:

-We desperately need a "Deep Three" tendency, or to have the AI's tendency to shoot from certain ranges tied in with their Limitless Range badge level-- Bronze means their 3PT tendency stretches out to, say, 26 feet, Silver 28 feet, Gold 30 feet, Hall of Fame 35 feet (basically only Lillard and Curry). Deep threes are too big a part of the game to have no AI-controlled players in 2K ever pulling up from more than 24 feet.

-Badge descriptions when we have them highlighted in Player Edit or the Quick Edit screen. It's so hard to keep track of what all the badges do because the names keep changing. Some of them are self-explanatory, but not all. If we could have tendency descriptions, that'd be a plus as well.

Too much to name, but let's start with more pass options and a totally revamped passing system.

I think it'd help to be more specific. What type of pass options or revamps do you want to see?

Passes that aren’t steals, like off target passes that go out of bounds. Once in awhile you might see a few but we need more.

Give us the ability to edit everything on player models! It's nice that they gave us a few more editing options this year, but we still can't edit players legs, backsides, muscle tone, arm size, torsos, etc. I want to be able to make players like James Harden actually look himself body wise.

Either give us the tools to totally customize player models, or implement a new player body scanning tech that will capture their true body types.

I want to see Physics expanded upon & improved. Players defy physics & recover unrealistically at times with their movement, especially with on-ball defense. I want to see physics play more of a roll with weight & momentum being taken into account at all times. I also want player physics to be able to augment or interrupt an animation at any time. Eliminate players limbs from clipping through body parts when a defender is bodying up the dribbler, contact when driving to the basket, fighting through pic & rolls, etc.

Foot Planting still needs to be better. I want the game to get to the point where each step is accounted for & no more sliding. It's gotten better over the years, but not there yet. I don't want to see players being able to rotate their body & have their feet slide into place without taking the proper steps.

Give us a 120fps Performance Mode option. Even if it means taking a resolution hit.

Increase the framerate for replays & cut scenes!

It would also be cool if we had the ability to completely create our own Gameplay Camera angle. That's something all sports games should add. Let us play on the view that we want!

Side note.. It's hilarious that you started this thread when the game isn't even officially out yet lol

Three things: Two new Eras focusing on the past, and an optional offseason MyNBA rule change.

1967-68, the first season the NBA had 12 teams. That seems to be the minimum number of teams the engine can use, so while I'd love to go earlier, I'll be more than happy with this.

1976-77, the first post-merger season. The NBA was about to change drastically, not just due to this merger, but due to Magic and Bird coming a few years later.

Finally, the option to completely remove the three-point line. I realize this may not be possible due to how courts are programmed and plays are drawn up, but if it could be done in two event games in 2K12, it can be done again.

The first time I played MyNBA Eras two years ago, one of my first games was against the Trail Blazers, we were up one, it came down to the wire, and Calvin Natt caught a pass, stood outside the arc, took one step closer, shot a 22-foot two-pointer--and it went in, at the buzzer, giving Portland the win.

God, that was SO refreshing to see, given what the real league is like today.

I had never been so happy to lose a game.

              - Finally expand to 4 and more team trades. Expand the allowed slots, more than 5 people/picks can get traded at one time

              - Finally allow us to trade and cut injured players like in the real NBA

              - Passing needs to be revamped. More weight to the ball, more variety, more realistic passes. Nobody but a few players in NBA history throws pin point cross court one handed passes so well. In 2K every player does it. Add more passing options to guys like Rondo and CP3, little pocket passes, mid-air corner passes, behind the back passes etc. I don't need a behind the head under the basket pass every other PnR

                  Re: NBA 2K26 Wishlist

Nothing will ever change with this game.

These guys used to have pride in being as their former title suggested, Visual Concepts and now they are just in a cycle of downgrading graphics and slowly reintroducing removed features over the years and making new marketing names for them.

They used to be front runners in videogame graphics, including all other genres and now look a full generation behind.

The engine needs to go and move to Unreal, something that can almost by default create more realistic lighting and higher polygon players.

Their animation system is decades behind, still having magnetic defenders due to archaic two person canned motiok capture.

Players still move on a swivel and the lack of proper ball physics makes this looks much worse when it gets glued to their hands when the player changes direction. This has never changed, it literally has been 25 years now. Even freaking NBA Live had a miles better system in place ten years ago.

Players still move like robots on anything that isn't canned. The in between and badly joined animations are probably now the worst in the business. These devs refuse to update their ancient tech. Motion matching has changed gaming and 2K.is lagging behind without it.

The commentary is just painful. Absolutely painful. Adding a new colour or support commentator on top of the now twenty year old Kevin Harlan lines does not hide this.

2K would be in trouble if EA, Sony and even Konami were still making basketball games.

It's a disgrace what this game has become and all the brainwashed sheep who have bought the same game for years now are largely to blame.

                    Re: NBA 2K26 Wishlist

Can’t believe I need to post this but we need the cpu to assign matchups with some logic. Steph on Luca for the 5th straight edition is idiocy.

We also need a go to shot tendency. Nerdy but necessary fix for tendency editors. I’ve tried for probably 8hrs but can’t find what triggers a go to shot from the cpu. best guess it’s an under the hood late shot clock tendency.

For those who don’t know almost all of the Isolation plays lead to drives from the cpu no matter what you have drive tendencies, 3pt tends or sizeup tends at. A go to shot tendency could greatly revolutionise the Iso game and lead to a more varied and realistic cpu.

It’s an improvement of a game but watching cpu vs cpu reveals that some eons old issues still persist unfortunately.

Add/Change some of the classic teams

I honestly think the 64-65 Lakers should be removed, as they don't have many players (replace them with either of the Kobe champ teams, I'd prefer the one with Artest personally)

84-85 Bucks I'd say swap to the 00-01 Bucks, this has been a team people have wanted for a while (big 3 of Ray Allen, Sam Cassell, and Big Dog Glenn Robinson, with Tim Thomas and a rookie Michael Redd as other good players on the team)

76-77 76ers I think should be replaced with the 82-83 championship team from a few years later, only major player missing is Toney

97-98 Spurs replaced with the championship roster from the very next year, this should be a no brainer

Also possibly add one of the Reggie teams, even without him it would be nice for my home team to be represented (99-00 or 03-04 teams are both good picks in my opinion)

Luka is no more of a PG than LeBron is, just change Luka to SF/SG. Cross-matchups are difficult for an AI to handle.
