2024-2025 TV Season

Some summer shows have ended and fall shows premiered, but majority of them haven't yet.

This week is the first week we're starting to see some shows return for their new season (such as Wheel of Fortune with Ryan Seacrest), while others will start near end of September if not early October.

And most summer shows will be winding down soon too if they haven't already.

Funny enough I think I had more things to watch in the summer than I do in the fall (not including sports), mainly because Big Brother airs 3 times a week.

Some shows still have catching up to do from the strike. Bob's Burgers is a weird one. Show RETURNS tonight and SEASON PREMIERE is in a few weeks. In other words, the rest of the season they didn't finish in the spring will finish over the next few weeks and immediately jump into their next season the week after.

Yeah the new Wheel of Fortune is tonight. Also I hope The Old Man is as good as it was the first go around.

First episode was fine. Just felt like regular wheel of fortune with a new host and some visual changes. Similar to when Bob Barker left Price is Right. Producers just made a few small visual changes so it looks slightly different (maybe changes that were vetoed in the past, but with a new host they could get away with doing it).

The pilot episode of Universal Basic Guys was pretty funny

I was thinking monkey was going to be a main character, so it surprised me he died. Maybe it was better he did but I still kinda wished he would have been kept around.

I want to give High Potential pilot a chance , it looks interesting at least.

It's in the death slot of Tuesday 10PM. I think I saw it was based on a show from another country, so maybe it has more of a chance.

After I had seen the preview about a dozen times did I even realize that's Sweet Dee from Always Sunny. I definitely want to see the pilot now.

The Old Man, starring Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow has it's first two season 2 episodes available. It's been over two years since the season 1 finale. I wasn't crazy about how it wound down the initial season but am intrigued about what's ahead.

Gave Rings of Power another try, mostly beacuse I wanted to see what they were doing with Sauron.. I just can't with this show.

Shades of the Jedi/Palpatine... Galadriel winds up on a boat with an enemy she has hunted for hundreds of years... and doesn't realize its him??.. just incomprehensible.. A High King of the Noldor doesn't see it either??.. now the story seems to be angling towards Galadriel teaming up with the army of Orcs, which is just absurd

The only thing that is setting up well is the Downfall of Numenor.. but even that has huge holes as Isildur is lost in Middle Earth and Elendils other son hasn't made an appearance, to my knowlege

I do like how they have explored the 2nd Age map. But this suffers as so many prequels do.

.. VERY weak writing also, constantly borrowing lines from LOTR.

There is nothing like Tolkiens world. I want to love this series, but its unlovable.

This new Matlock with Kathy Bates was actually pretty good. Has nothing to do with Andy Griffiths Matlock.

I watched the first couple episodes of Doctor Odyssey. It kept interested enough that I want to see more. Its more House, M.D. than Love Boat. Maybe they should have called it House Boat.

That's all I noticed! I love her silly role, The Mick was criminally underrated, so maybe her in a criminal role will even out

I've watched a couple episodes and its interesting enough for now to keep me coming back. But there might be a saturation point for these kind of shows. Between High Potential, Elsbeth, Matlock and Poker Face, they are all eerily similar , I think this the new blueprint for formulaic tv.

so it's the same blueprint as the old blueprint lol, someone figures out how to solve things in a unique way, different actors, rinse repeat

They're probably the weakest of the Young Sheldon cast so we'll see how the show goes. I hope the mother in the show doesn't just keep the same character she had in young Sheldon where she's the nagging condescending mother/mother in law and bossy wife in every conversation she has.

If anyone in that cast deserved a spinoff it should've been Missy, or her as a main character in this new show. But they really gave her such a bad ending in YS.



Edit-First impressions, it just feels like a basic sitcom. Doesn't really stand out or feel like a continuation from Young Sheldon outside of the characters and their backstory.
