i know that the first Death Stranding was a very divisive game with most people falling in one of two camps - loved it or hated it. I fell in the loved it camp. So, I put that disclaimer out there so you know where I'm coming from when I say I'm absolutely loving Death Stranding: On the Beach. It accentuates everything that was great in the first game and offers an even more compelling narrative.
This time around the arduous tasks that so many people hated in the first game (i.e. walking over massive amounts of terrain with stacks of containers heaped on your back and attached to your suit causing you to constantly fall over if you didn't plan a safe route or ran too fast) are alleviated pretty early on. Within the first few chapters, you can construct vehicles and fabricate walking skeletons, which makes traveling so much easier. This is one of the rare sequels where the game doesn't force you to re-learn things you learned in the first game.
And to top it all off, the graphics and soundtrack are amazing. Sometimes as I'm trekking across the great Australian continent, I'll literally stop and just admire the views. The amount of detail that is noticeable is beyond description. And then, as I'm making my way from destination to destination, a song will begin playing and it is always spot on. Never does a song playing not fit with the situation.
Again, if you liked/loved the first Death Stranding, this is definitely worth a look. Game of the Year material for me!

Just bought DS2. Being a huge MGS fan, I was always intrigued by DS1 but it just seemed too far out there to pull the trigger. I've now watched a few videos to catch up on the story and now I'm ready to dive in. So far-so good after 5 hours.
