We've got news trickling in.

Along with coaches being in (based on the leaked photo), it was revealed today by Chris Vanini at the NYT that all players will be getting $1500 this year (up from $600) because of the success of last year's game. Ambassador and cover athlete pay is also increasing.

Good on EA for doing right by them. Having the real players in the game made a big difference.

I was going to do a thread on the need to recalibrate your Dynasty mode, because Front End/NIL players “are not” rated into an Archetype/Tendency and throw off the Real Time Coaching (RTC) logic due to

1) Roster build based on Player Archetype mis-matching to Coach’s Scheme
- if the player is an Archetype mismatch, the displayed OVR will not match the underneath recalculated Archetype OVR RTC is looking at within the Roster Quality formula that’s used

2) Mismatch NIL ratings not in-line with Generated Star ratings ranges
- you’ll see the Tulane/ECU with 2-3 Star NIL positionally rated like 5-Star players

- when you Sim, these inflated players will generate winning (1 or 2 loss season) progressing lower tier school’s Prestige level to 4-5 in 2-3 seasons real quickly

3) RTC looks at on-field players positional ratings for mismatches to adjust what plays will be called, audibles etc…
- this leads to lower prestige schools playing like Power Schools

Other mode breaking stuff also

NIL players because of how they must inflate them as to not upset someone, are really not conducive to balancing writhing Dynasty Mode

HC/Coordinators also suffer from similar mis-match issues against each schools profile, that’s used when looking to hire vacant position replacements
- school profile notes it’s preferred scheme, but will hire a coach with an different scheme

I wish HC’s mainly deal with Roster Building, while Playbooks was attached to Coordinators and the Coordinators Prestige level dictates how big of a playbook the Coordinator has available

- lower Prestige Coordinators run very vanilla schemes/playbooks

Next, tie in QB or Defense Cumulative AWR rating to dictate how many plays are available to be called/used

Dang I feel bad for the service academies cadets. They are not allowed to participate in NIL deals.

They are employees of the academies. Before NIL, they were the only players who were allowed to get paid.

Prior to the release of CFB25, Matt Brown talked about how it was a big deal for the service academy players to get in. Main reason: NIL


"While all schools, including the service academies, are going to be in the game, very little chance the service academy players will be featured. The players of Army, Navy, and Air Force are all federal employees and thus are not allowed to receive NIL benefits. EA and the Academies are trying to work with the US Govt to allow them in the game, but right now it seems unlikely. More than likely Service Academy players will be generic."

Yeah, I don't expect Draft Import and Roster Share to be an option going forward. I think that's something we have to come to terms with.


I just hope they eventually find a way to create a recruit or even edit recruits. It would be a dream to import a recruiting class with unique players. But, I don't ever see that happening. I would accept Create a Recruit even if it meant that the Player's Bio and Avatar are randomized.

I'm just speaking as a former Air Force service member. The government/military has some weird rules. During Super Bowl XXXV I was stationed in Japan and we had to watch it on the Armed Forces Network and that channel was prohibited from showing commercials. I don't know how it is now.

EA would never. They bank on you to want to buy next years version to be able to play as your favorite rookie.

Anybody remember the exact date the teaser trailer dropped last year? I'm looking very much forward to CFB 26, but NOTHING will surpass the hype of last year. That was such a big deal. I wish I could have bottled that up lol!

The first teaser trailer came on 2/15/24. We're likely going to be on a standard EA pre-release schedule. It's different now that the game actually released. I don't think we'll hear much from the likes of Matt Brown. Don't think we'll hear much from Fowler or Herbstreit when it comes commentary updates. Same goes with NIL


EA typically starts revealing info 2 months prior to release. Last year was different because it was first release in over decade and we had a lot of non-official EA info to hold us over. So, I'm not expecting anything until late April/Early May at the earliest. I expect a July 11 release date for EA CFB 26
