Oh Man.... worst possible time for a freeze I've ever had....

I've played every pitch into my second year of a fantasy drafted Royals franchise. Its been awesome, and I have truly enjoyed it. I've not had one single problem with the game freezing, or glitching, or whatever.

The first year we were 1 game from making in into the playoffs. Very awesome season. Lots of ups and downs. Didn't really more any players around. I felt there were some minor holes, that I would fill in the offseason.

The second year we made it in on the last day of the regular season. Once again, great season. I picked up Adrian Gonzalez at the trade deadline, and as an afterthought picked up Curtis Granderson(who was offered to me).
Cruised 4-0 through ALDS. Won in 6 through ALCS. Granderson was a beast.

Was down 3 games to 2 in the World Series. Won game 6 by a landslide.
Was down 5-0 through 7 in game 7. Came back to tie it in the top of the 8th.
Then in the top of the 9th, with no outs, I had Lastings Milledge pitch hit, I wanted someone with better speed than Saltalamachia(yeah, I butchered it) leading the inning off. MIlledge goes oppo to put us up by 1. He rounds the bases, it goes to my next batter, and boom. It freezes. I was like- "you have to be kidding me."

I know the majority don't care. I know there are others though that have gone through this. I just don't know what to do. Even though its not my fault, I feel cheesy starting game 7 over again. I guess I have to. Oh well. Heres to a Royals victory in game 7.

Game 7 of the WS..wow..I think I might have destroyed something, haha.

All I can offer as encouragement is what happened to me last night. I have a fantasy draft franchise too, mine's the Giants, and we play our home games at the Polo Grounds. We're far from the World Series, in fact we were 4-11 going into last night's game, but I had hopes of breaking the losing streak because we were back home and I had my ace going, Jered Weaver. Unfortunately, we drew the Cardinals' ace, Roy Oswalt, so it was in line to be a pitchers duel.

And the game didn't disappoint, as neither team scored until the 6th inning, but I finally scratched out a run on a groundout to lead 1-0. Then the Cards tied it in the top of the 7th, but the bottom of the 7th comes and I get back to back homers from Nick Swisher and Scott Podsednik to put me up 3-1. By the end of the 8th, I was up 4-1 and looking good for Weaver to pitch a complete game victory. Then the Cards draw a walk, and Mark Teixeira steps to the plate. He jacks a 2-run shot to that short overhang in left field, and just as Matt says "home run!" the picture freezes. The funny thing was the audio kept going so I still heard the crowd noise while my LF, Marlon Byrd, just stood there looking forlornly up at where Tex hit the ball.

But man I was mad, I was so close to breaking the losing streak and getting a hard fought win. I think there was even 2 outs, so even giving up the homer I had a good chance to hold on and win, but now I'll never know.

So I thought about playing something else, since I thought I might be too mad to have to do the game over, I figured I'd probably stink up the joint and lose badly and then feel worse, but I decided, no, I'll try again.

I think I was so determined to not lose that game after what happened that I willed Jered Weaver to an even more dominant performance the second time because I didn't give up a single run. The bad part was I didn't SCORE a run either all the way through the first 8 innings.

Finally, with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth, I got Gerald Laird to 2nd base, and Marlon Byrd steps to the plate. I was very patient, taking some close pitches and fouling off a few before, on a 2-2 count, Byrd hits it almost to the same spot that Tex did in the first lost game, and I win in walk-off style 2-0. I've never been so happy to get my team to 5-11! I even did the stupid Hawk Harrelson "You can put it on the boarrrd....yes!" thing, haha.

So, I wish you as good a time in your second attempt as I had, my friend.

I know what you mean. I've been in a similar situation, though it wasn't game 7 of the WS, that's for sure.

Thanks guys. I am thinking about giving it another go in a few minutes. I've been playing NHL to clear my head.

Jeffster- great story, congrats on a great win! I wish you continued success with your team.
