ICON Campaign - Don't Waste Your Time

Well they aren't fixing any of the actual game-breaking problems with UT, but they continue to introduce random crap without any explanation.

Anybody have any idea how these fighters progress? You turn in all the pieces and get a sub par gold fighter. How will they improve by combining 2? More slots? Higher stats? How about 3, 4 and so on? Once you get to 10, is it the equivalent of a normal 4* champion? better? Worse?

I have 500k saved up = 100 pieces = 16.6 of each piece. So I'm looking at a maximum of 16 fighters, or 1.6 of each. I imagine I have more gold than most anyone in the world, and may not even get a L2 fighter with it all, AND THE PACKS DISAPPEAR IN 3 DAYS!

Who comes up with this crap? Remember the clovers? If top guys in the world dedicated 3 months straight to that clover crap, they'd have basically nothing to show for it, yet these stupid events last just days.

CONCLUSION - This seems way cooler than the other gimmicks, but like the rest, you'll get nothing out of it other than subpar gold fighters to trade in for other gold fighters, to maybe, possibly, one day turn in for an actual 4* or 5* champ. Someone please prove me wrong.

I'm going to get Elite Hughes. Unfortunately he is going to cost me a ton. I have him to level 5 right now so it's going to be 5 or less Wildcards near the end of the month for me to get him to Elite. Hopefully I pull a few more of him. I leveled up Kimbo to 5 also but that was before the trade in 2 for 1 set which really sucks because now I'm just pulling to get Hughes, Penn or Kimbo and I haven't gotten any of them in 2 days of grinding and swapping in the set.

I don't even understand how the mode works with the pieces and the leveling up and all that nonsense. Hah. I have zero idea what the pieces mean or do to help you level up your fighter. They have 2 fighters on them too. Ha whats that mean? They should have launched a brief tutorial video explaining how this all worked and the best way to go about it.

So I have an icon rampage I want to level up.. bunch of random pieces and zero idea where to go from here. I thought only way to level up your fighter is to have a duplicate but is the only way to get a dupe through using your pieces and 2 boosts in the sets to get another random icon fighter and hope it's yours? Ha cuz those odds suck.

If there's another way to do it than how? How can I use the pieces I have to level up my fighter? I just don't get how the system works with how to get duplicate fighters so you can level up.

Grind- It sounds like you got the gist. Need to hope for dupes to combine to level up. I estimate this could take a couple MILLION coins to get your 4* fighter, and they'll still get their *** kicked by a 5* Conor. You are much more likely to end up spending months worth of coins and hours, only to get a fighter partially leveled up.

The only real benefit is that you can get an iconic fighter to a viable level, as opposed to a current or recent champion.

You are much more likely to end up spending months worth of coins and hours, only to get a fighter partially leveled up.

I was curious about the leveled up fighters versus other cards released in the past and I compared my lvl 5 Kimbo against my 25 Year Derrick Lewis and Lewis was still overall the better Brawler card. Comparing my lvl 6 Hughes to 25 Year Jacare (even though he is a specialist) is roughly no difference at all.

Pretty unfortunate for them to release a real sh*t promo 6 months into the game cycle and try to act like they are giving you gold when they are really just bricking on your chest.

For comparison sales in Madden Ultimate Team 18 - 6 months in - they had already released 4 or 5 major promotions complete with REALLY great cards at the time that you could earn through solos without spending a dime.

Despite the fact that I will get 4 star Hughes, this promo is nothing more than a disgusting, poorly thought out money grab that in know way helps the casual player or helps grow the dwindling player base.

I did the challenges for the heck of it, but they were ridiculously easy and a waste of time. There's still a number of solo challenges (which are doable since the patch that brought auto-assign) I want to complete but can't.

If the L10 fighters would be 5-stars it'd be worth it, but I assume you guys can do the math and can figure out there's no way that's going to happen unless you play this game way too much.

Wow really? So they didn't even make the leveling up worth it at all hah.

Makes me want to just forget this mode exists. I have a great crop of fighters already. And for it to take so much work to level your fighters for such little reward totally isn't worth it.

Yet again another **** idea from the UT dev team instead of giving us the things we're actually asking for.

Well I guess no reason for me to even attempt to grind this promo...I've already spent at least 150k coins on it and have a Level 2 Tito and Level 2 Hughes NICE lmao

I agree w/ Chia too....ahhh man....UT has so much potential....

only reason i'm playing is to get to level 150 for the trophy to complete my platinum, not sure if I will last though I'm level 52 and am pretty burned out on UT :/

They are finally starting to release elite level moves and fighters. I'm saving up my coins for when more of them drop. I have a few elite level moves already from the hall of fame packs but looking forward to more elite moves and especially elite fighters. So gonna save up coins for that.

Is the Icon campaign really over today? Got like 13 hours left from time of this post. I dont think that was near enough time for the majority of people to get even close to an elite fighter (at least without spending mad real money).

I only have my Rampage to level 4.

So after this 13 hours is up you wont be able to pull new icon fighters with the pieces anymore? So I'm stuck with this level 4 rampage? I haven't redeemed him yet because i was hoping to get more to get a higher ranking but doesn't seem like I have the time.

Seems like it finishes at 8 pm eastern time today. I was able to grind out an elite Kimbo. Got lucky with my pulls. I don’t know how some of these people have full sets of them. Good for them though.

Seems like it finishes at 8 pm eastern time today. I was able to grind out an elite Kimbo. Got lucky with my pulls. I don’t know how some of these people have full sets of them. Good for them though.

Wonder what the next program will be? Hopefully it starts tonight. Kind of curious as to where else they’ll go.

Summer Camp 2 - 4 star CAFs. Supposedly earned through solos. That's all I know.
