Imagining NFL 2K22 Arcade with all of this personality and unique characteristics.
Damn this would be so much damn fun controlling these players with all of the signature animations of each NFL player being individually unique. Could this actually be a preview of NFL 2K?

When I saw this commercial I was legit thinking this was an ad for a new game. I was ready to commit to the purchase without even seeing actual gameplay lol

same here. I think alot of gamers were thinking this. for a Superbowl ad, this was the biggest letdownComment

This might be the right avenue for 2k. Get the personalities and characteristics of the "stars" in the NFL.Comment

That is making me rethink how much fun an “arcade style” game could be. Signature moves and personality really is huge. I’ve been picturing realistic player models in a mode Iike the yard. But player models like this and exaggerated moves like Derrick Henry’s stiff arm and Patrick Mahomes no look passes would make a game hella fun

LMAO I knew I wasn't the only one that was thinking that
As soon the commercial was getting longer my heart started racing I thought 2k logo was about to pop up
You guys remember the old Sega sports commercial showing carton moss and Iverson ?
I was getting those same vibes last night lolComment

Re: Imagining NFL 2K22 Arcade with all of this personality and unique characteristics
An NFL game with exaggerated player models and animations while still playing like 11 on 11 football could be an awesome formula for a football title. It would basically be the football version of Super Mega Baseball. It would have simulation-like gameplay (no powerups or anything like that), but all of the visuals would suggest an arcade-style game. Hopefully something like that would be enough to skirt around the "non-simulation" restrictions.

Re: Imagining NFL 2K22 Arcade with all of this personality and unique characteristics
The commercial actually looked very similar to NBA Playgrounds:
And that game was released 3 years ago on last gen systems.
Perhaps the NFL used characters from the new NFL2K game but didn't want to attach 2K to it because TT wasn't ready to officially announce the game yet? Rumor is they wanted to release in Winter 2021 but the NFL wanted another date. If that's the case then the graphical side of the game is likely finished and the rest of the time is being used to add a few new features and QC (?). It wouldn't be a big ask out of 2K.
Either way, I think it's increasingly likely we get a souped up Playgrounds type game. I would be completely down for that with the hope:
- It's 11 on 11. This is #1 for me.
- They retain many of the same gameplay mechanics and animation style from APF and previous NFL2K games.
- There's customization features ala MyTeam and MyCareer in NBA2K games
- *Bonus* There is a simple yet over the top Franchise mode."Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."Comment
