KNIGHTS HIRE NEW GM

To the surprise of everyone, long time Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon stepped down due to health concerns. It was long rumored that he had been struggling with his personal health, but this all but confirms it. McCrimmon is still expected to stay on staff in a consultant role.

Owner Dave Foley and President George McPhee made a shocking announcement when they stated they have hired Halifax native Evan McCabe as the team's new General Manager. There was a lot of pushback and a recent fan poll suggested that 89% are unhappy with the decision.

So what do we know about the new GM, the 45 year old is supposedly an analytics guru and has managed two Triple A Hockey Clubs in Nova Scotia; The Valley Wildcats and The Pictou County Weeks Crushers.

MCCABE WILL NEED TO NAVIGATE THE CAP

In a blistering rant, local Journalist Trent Crimm slammed the hiring of McCabe and his inexperience and discussed blowing up the team and rebuilding with a new GM. In what appears to be an extreme take from the Journalist, many other new reporters ended up defending the decision and insisted on a wait and see approach.

All we know is the team has it's Superstars and a strong core and should be poised for another deep playoff run.

Just two months after announcing his Retirement, Forward Patrick Marleau was announced as being inducted to the Hall of Fame on his first ballot. In conjunction with the announcement, the San Jose Sharks have announced that they will be retiring his number this season, raising his iconic #12 to the rafters.

MCCABE SIGNS COVETED NCAA PROSPECT

After being courted by at least 10 NHL teams, including Tampa Bay, Washington and Toronto; 18 Year Old Stand Out Oliver MacDonald has decided to sign with the Vegas Golden Knights. MacDonald had already committed to University of Massachusetts-Amherst Minutemen but will be available to the team in June of 2022. The signing comes a boon to McCabe, who has been coming under fire for lack of preseason moves.
