    Barry Bonds and Joe Young

Is Joe Young's ratings supposed to be representative of Bond's real ratings so all you have to do is edit the appearance and name of Joe Young? Also, how do they handle the age and career stats of Joe Young? Is he 42 years old and on the verge of breaking the HR record?

Most of his attributes can be seen here:

I posted in another thread that I feel he was underrated in some categories, but that could just be a bias.

Re: Barry Bonds and Joe Young

I saw the ratings and thought the power ratings were underated, but then on the other hand, the guys 42 and missed an entire season 2 years ago and only hit 26 hrs last year. I think his HRs are going to be higher this year, but I don't expect more than 35 to 40 HRs. If he blasts a ton, I'm sure the roster updates will upgrade Joe Youngs power.

So Joe Young's career stats are Bond's real career stats? I'm suprised 2K can get away with that.

WHo said they were his real career stats? I hope they are. It would be cool. I also want to know if they keep track of the league records and team records such as the homerun record. I hope so.

Sorry, I misread the response from above. So then, Young's ratings and stats have nothing to do with Bonds?

Young doesn't have Bonds career stats. Everything is at 0.

I'm sure most people on here would make the argument that Bonds' ratings in this game in fact are correct, but I would have to say that some things should definitely be more bumped up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Bonds the first guy since Lou Gehrig to have more home runs than strikeouts in a 40+ home run season? This man does not strike out much at all, and his stats show it. Therefore his strikeout rating should be higher (a higher rating = less strikeouts in the 2K series). Walks should pretty much be 100, though it's 95. And like I said, the man can still hit the long ball. Though he didn't hit as many this year (mostly attributed to a weak elbow, knee, and unstable body in particular), he still had the highest average home run distance this year (forget what it was). His average may have sufficed, but I think he was a little more impatient this year, and you saw his patience grow in the second half of the year when his average was much better.

And like I said, I still consider him the most dangerous hitter in baseball, as do managers. If not, he should be treated like he isn't, and not be getting 3 - 1 changeups and backdoor sliders.

So anyway, I'm just trying to say that in my personal opinion, they underrated him. I still think he's the greatest player in baseball, and I don't think he's a defensive liability (though I wouldn't ever consider him a gold glover among the other NL outfielders). I hope that next year they have a Fatigue rating or something that can take guys like Bonds out of the lineup a bit more, or "Age Factor" or something.

You can change almost everything on him that it almost looks like Bonds, but I changed his name to bonds and the announcers still call him Joe Young, looks like I have to recreate him.:o

Yeah, I tried to just edit Young, but for some reason, you can't edit a players face. I guess he'll have to be created.
