    1990s all-decade teams

as the VH1 show says, I love the 90s! My idea : create an all-decade team from the 90s for each team...then play a season with them...i know it'll take some work but i'm willing to put in some time to make this happen...i can do all the players (appearances, abilities, etc.) but i need some help with batting stances and signature pitching...couple of rules for the teams : players must have played at least two years with their club (no one-year wonders) and if a player succeeded with two clubs during the decade, he will be assigned to the team he is most known/most succeeded for...for example, Paul O'Neill helped lead the Reds to the 1990 Championship, and was an All-Star for them, but he is much more known and had far more success for the Yankees than the Reds...so unfortunately he would be assigned to the Yankees team...if anybody would like to help out post your favorite all decade team and i'll take care of the rosters...then when completed i'll upload them for everybody to use...

    http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/

great website with all the info needed to make these teams...i'll post the 90s All-Decade Cincinnati Reds team in a bit so you can see where i'm going with this...

as far as the Braves go, I would put Chipper at SS and have Pendleton at 3B because in the 90's early in his career Chipper played Short.

I thought this was all 1990's teams...

Oakland: Stan Javier not Matt Stairs, Tim Hudson debut June 8, 1999, doesn't qualify for all decade team. Maybe use Todd Van Poppel. Other honorable mentions... Ernie Young, Ozzie Conseco, and Geronimo Berroa

St. Louis: Ron Gant was more a Brave in the 90's

Pittsburgh: Brian Giles played in 1999 for the Pirates, use Al Martin and Tim Wakefield instead of Mike Williams

Last time I checked 90's teams included roster players from 90-99. Mike Williams started with the Pirates in 98 and Giles in 99. I'm pretty sure they qualify

MOST DEF. AGREED. TP won the MVP and NL Batting Title in 1991, and also led the league in hits. He's def. gotta be the starter at 3B.

Also, Ron Gant should be on the Braves 90's team.

I disagree and here is why.

Chipper Jones in the 90's Stats

                              Games Played: 899

                              OBP: .404
                              OPS: .939

Chipper Jones Accomplishments in the 90s
1 World Series Ring and A MVP Award.

Chipper Jones only has 49 Career Games at Shortstop. The most in one season was 38 in 1996.

Terry Pendleton in the 90's Stats

                              Games Played: 593
                              At Bats: 2330
                              Runs: 319
                              Hits: 669
                              BA: .287
                              Homeruns: 71
                              RBI's: 322
                              OBP: .327
                              OPS: .772

                              Accomplishments in 90's
                              MVP and Batting Title

He played 4 and a Half seasons with the Braves. Most of his Career was in St Louis in the 80's but this is the 90's we are speaking of.

The Highest Average hit by Pendleton in one season in the 90's as a Brave was .319 Chipper Jones the same.
Pendletons Highest average in a season was that .319 average with the exception of Pendletons rookie season of .324 in which he played only 67 games. Chipper Jones Highest average in one season was .364 Last Year.

So point being Chipper is the clear 3B starter as Blauser deserves Shortstop. Pendleton as much as I like him is over rated.
