This is a pretty massive list with a lot of changes to players already set to other guys (typically off of OS or 2K's threads about stances). How confident is everybody that these are better than what the players are already set to? Like it's pretty easy to make all the switches if the player isn't already the "owner", but if they're worse it's going to tick off a lot of people. What looks scary at first glance is how there are lot of multiple players on the same team with the same stance (like two guys on the Yankees set to Buster Posey. I get the argument that players may share hitting coaches in the minors, but people were upset about duplicates on the same team last year) and a lot of name spelling mistakes (not a big deal, but this is an attention to detail project).

well i went through some of the list and alot of them seem pretty close to me. the problem with this is that we are setting players to a certain template and odds are only a few players will be 100% correct. so its pretty much up to the user to pick which he likes and which one you decide is closest to the real thing. for me i think overall the list is good but since im a phillies phanatic (bad pun im sorry ) so i feel like the edits i have on some phillies player fit better. now this isn't saying the list is wrong and im right its all just preference on who thinks they are closer to the real thing.

the list IMO is a great start to edit players though but feel free to go through and change whoever to whatever you feel best. if you feel like a certain stance is overused or more than one on the same team (the buster posey stances on the yankees) then maybe try to find one similar but a little different to add variety to your team. even if the stance is a little off i understand how it throws off the feel of editing stances if there are multiples on the same team.

in a perfect world 2k would do the stance/deliveries more like nba with maybe a lower body/upper body kind of system but it might be more complicated which is why i can see them sticking with this one.

Remember too that this is last year's list. It is meant as a starting point. The two Yankees you mentioned, for example, I don't think I'd use Buster Posey for either one anymore. Gardner is a little more upright now, and for Cervelli it's not even close to him anymore. These will be a lot closer, in general, than 2k's default roster, but since I haven't done any (besides some of the starting pitchers) since last July, they'll be a little outdated.

As far as players on the same team having the same stance, I'm not going to give a guy a stance that isn't as good so that he doesn't have the same stance as a teammate. That makes no sense to me. Some stances are going to get used a lot more than others. B.J. Upton, for example is used ten times. But he has a basic, open, crouched stance that a lot of players use. Josh Hamilton is used a lot, because there aren't many stances where the guy rests the bat on his shoulder - there are two A's that use that stance on the list, and it still works really well for both of them. There are 508 guys on that list. There are only 171 stances. And a lot of those are pretty unique, and won't be used very often. So there are going to be repeats when some teams have over 20 guys listed.

I'll be going through every single team again. But I'm not doing it for a little while. There's no point right now. For example, I think I'll want to change Jason Heyward as I've heard he's changed his stance a bit, and I've never found a stance that really worked for him. 2k's default stances are terrible. They have not added a single new stance this year, and I don't believe they did last year. But they renamed 27 stances this year. Joey Votto has had a generic stance as his "signature" stance for 2 or 3 years now.

im trying to find a good stance for hunter pence.. the aybar one has the bat farther over his shoulder and he holds it more upright and tight lately. it almost is like mike stantons but with the bat held closer to his body

Remember too that this is last year's list. It is meant as a starting point. The two Yankees you mentioned, for example, I don't think I'd use Buster Posey for either one anymore. Gardner is a little more upright now, and for Cervelli it's not even close to him anymore. These will be a lot closer, in general, than 2k's default roster, but since I haven't done any (besides some of the starting pitchers) since last July, they'll be a little outdated. As far as players on the same team having the same stance, I'm not going to give a guy a stance that isn't as good so that he doesn't have the same stance as a teammate. That makes no sense to me. Some stances are going to get used a lot more than others. B.J. Upton, for example is used ten times. But he has a basic, open, crouched stance that a lot of players use. Josh Hamilton is used a lot, because there aren't many stances where the guy rests the bat on his shoulder - there are two A's that use that stance on the list, and it still works really well for both of them. There are 508 guys on that list. There are only 171 stances. And a lot of those are pretty unique, and won't be used very often. So there are going to be repeats when some teams have over 20 guys listed. I'll be going through every single team again. But I'm not doing it for a little while. There's no point right now. For example, I think I'll want to change Jason Heyward as I've heard he's changed his stance a bit, and I've never found a stance that really worked for him. 2k's default stances are terrible. They have not added a single new stance this year, and I don't believe they did last year. But they renamed 27 stances this year. Joey Votto has had a generic stance as his "signature" stance for 2 or 3 years now.

thanks for making that list! I used the Mets stances and am quite happy with them. I mentioned to mkharsh your list and offered to put all of the stances into his roster as it is a time consuming job but adds a lot. Please keep us updated on any new list you put together and hopefully after opening day ill be able to put them together with mk's roster
